'get high'可不是“嗨起来”！用错可是要被抓起来的！

很像high起来或是上来的意思呢？

get high的确是很嗨了

但实际上是表示take a drug to make yourself high

knee high

knee high就是as high as your knee，齐膝高、高到膝盖的意思。knee-high就是形容词。

knee-high boots 高筒靴

身体部位+high就表示到...高，比如chest high = 齐胸高；waist high = 齐腰高。

The grass was knee-high.

草长到膝盖高了。

大家要注意一下high和tall的区别哦！当high和tall都表示高的时候：

high : a long distance from the bottom to the top 

tall : (of a person, building, tree, etc.) having a greater than average height

所以high是不能用来表示人、动物、植物、建筑等高，这些事用tall表示。

你长得很高了。

He's six feet tall and weighs 200 pounds.

他高6英尺，重200磅。

a high sugar/salt...content

a high sugar/salt/fat/fiber... content意思就是高糖/高盐/高脂/高纤维。换个用法就是be high in sugar/salt/fat/fiber...。

high in sth意思是...的含量高，这里的high是表示contain a lot of a particular substance or quality，包含大量特定的物质。

Red meat tends to have a high fat content.

红肉往往脂肪含量很高。

Choose foods that are high in fiber and low in calories.

选择高纤维低卡的食物。

have friends in high places

have friends in high places看上去像不像我上头有人的感觉？实际上意思确实差不多了。

这个词表示know important people who can help you，可以解释为有路子、有后台。

Don't mess with me; I have friends in high places.

不要惹我，我可是有后台的。

high ground

high ground的确是高地的意思，从高地这个意思引申出了（比赛或辩论中的）优势、有利条件。

Neither side in this conflict can claim the moral high ground.

在这场冲突中的两方都没有占据道德制高点。
