蜡油溶解征为肢体纹状增生症的特异性表现。该病又称为蜡油骨病，为罕见的骨增生症，病因不明。骨外膜下毛细血管扩张导致骨外膜下皮质发育异常。常见临床症状为局部疼痛和肢体活动受限，有侵犯一侧肢体诸骨的倾向。该病早期的X线表现为单侧骨皮质不规则增厚，似蜡油沿烛表面流下，呈滴注样。当病变进展，骨质增生更显著，骨纵轴弯曲变粗，可以累及关节。正常的骨松质被斑点状硬化骨质所替代。骨增生的部分呈直线状，选择性分布在一侧肢体诸骨的同一边，呈特异性的‘流过’现象。
