Lucy always wanted to become a teacher, because she liked children.

露西一直想成为一名教师，因为她喜欢孩子。

When she was twenty-one years old, she began teaching in a small school.

当她21岁时，她开始在一所小学校教书。

She was a good teacher, and she laughed a lot with the children in her class.

她是一个好老师，她和班里的孩子们在一起都会笑的很开心。

They enjoyed her teaching. 他们喜欢上她的课。

One day, one of the girls in her class asked her, “Why does a man's hair become grey before his beard does?”

一天，班里的一个女孩儿问她，“为什么男人的头发比胡子先变白?”

Lucy laughed and answered: “I don't know, Helen.”

露西笑着回答：“我不知道，海伦。”

Then one of the boys said, “I know! Men's hair becomes grey first because it's sixteen years older than their beard.” 

接着其中一个男生说，“我知道！男人的头发先变白，因为它比他们的胡子老16岁。”
