禁止套娃！ 在标准美语中，既可以用different from，也可以用different than，而且这两种用法已经使用了300年。但是这两个短语哪个更正确呢?  在正式写作中，different from一般是首选different than。这种偏好在一定程度上与than这个词的历史用法有关。这个词进入英语时通常与比较级形容词连用，如better, higher, short, warm, lesser, and more，来引入比较级中的第二个元素。 Different不是一个比较级形容词，因此，当different than第一次出现在英语中时，它听起来刺耳或不太自然。From至少从16世纪开始就与动词different连用，这为different进入词典铺平了道路。 威廉·莎士比亚（William Shakespeare）《错误喜剧》（The Comedy of Errors）中的用法不同：This week he hath been heavy, sour, sad.
