Nærvær, meaning “Presence", is about exactly that — the thing that we are all longing for; time for each other, being present and making eye contact. In its essence, Nærvær is about being in the moment, being present. With the ambition to create a local wine bar and restaurant emphasised by an intimate and cosy atmosphere that underlines a sense of presence, Nærvær is located in a fairly new and contemporary building. The long structure is placed on the edge of the property, perfectly conveying the transition from the meadowlands to the cultivated farmland and private enclosed garden.

The assignment was to come up with a concept of light and flexible units suitable for tight living spaces. Our idea was to create cubic shapes with a lightness and tactility in its design and expression, with subtle transitions between the dark, wooden cabinet and the light, composite zink. Featuring no visible knobs or handles, the functions of the furniture reveal themselves and become intuitive to you once you begin to interact and familiarise with it.
