We are inWaterloo, south of central Sydney, between the city and Botany Bay. ►Casba是一个具有多种模式的公寓。在较低楼层用于零售和租赁，这种模式把私人空间和公共空间联系起来。但是大规模的户外空间被迫关闭，所以发展将为居民创造更多的户外空间。为了改善这样的情况我们做了许多工作，现在新的公共空间将全天向居民开放。建筑师Adam Haddow （悉尼）说，这一改变使得澳大利亚的居民意识到拥有公共空间不再是遥不可及。 ►Casba is a mixed-usedevelopment – mostly apartments, but activated on the lower levels with retailtenancies and the urban spaces that form privately owned public space. Wheremost developments of any scale will have outdoor spaces for residents, theseare too often closed off from the public at large. Here, something better hashappened, the normally secured communal spaces have been opened up to thepublic all the time. Architect Adam Haddow (SJB Sydney) says this allows thecreation of spaces the public might discover, and ‘an Australian public spacethat isn’t a high street’. ►庭院是美好的空间，充满阳光，水和树木。柱廊为核心通过清晰的路径带居民进入前厅。Casba通过中央庭院创建一种不依靠外界的发展模式。并非所有都可以欣赏到港口、城市、公园的景色。 ►The courtyard iswonderful space, full of sunlight, water and trees. The clear pathway throughthe site gives access into a series of small lobbies for residents to enter theprivate spaces of the development. Casba creates its own amenity through thecentral courtyard, and has become a development that can look into itselfrather than relying on views outside. Not all sites can have views of aharbour, a city or a park. ►Casba成功的核心是对材料的使用，尤其是砖。砖根据纹理只要分为两种主要类型——白色的砖墙用于上层外墙，利于循环利用。红砖用于底部和墙面，极具质感。阳台展现出的性感和迷人是砖块赋予的曲线美。 ►Central to the success ofCasba is the use of material – particularly brick, but with timber and concretein the mix. Brick is used for its textured quality; and two main types – thewhite painted brickwork for the external facades and recycled, highly textured,red brick for landscape, paving and wall areas in the lower sections.Theluscious undulating balconies also use brick for its ability to create suchcurves. ►丹克斯的临街门面呈现一种70年代白砖的感觉，所引用的是一个伟大时代的最后产物——拱形窗户。使得建筑回归简单又不失华丽，从而获得公寓未来发展的真实需要。 ►The Danks Street fa?ade hasa great 70s white brick feel, with shallow arched windows that reference thelast great era of white painted brickwork.
