09  GOING OUT TO EAT

all-you-can-eat:a menu option that allows you to eat as much as you want for a fixed price(可尽情享用的,可以随便吃的,比如你去吃了自助,就说:After I ate dinner at an all-you-can-eat buffet, I’ve had a stomachache for two days! What a buzzkill!

beat the crowds:to get somewhere early before it gets crowded(字面意思是 把人群打掉,就是 错峰,避开高峰期,比如你要和父母坐晚上7点的飞机,就说:Let’s get to the airport an hour early to beat the crowds.

chow down:to eat, often quickly and a lot of food(吃得又快又多,比如你饿极了,就说:I chowed down four hamburgers in on time only to find that I was overfull.

I'm in.:I’ll participate. 比如你的好朋友说:A group of us are going to see the concert next Sunday, if you're interested.你就立马说:I'm in.

in the mood for:having, feel like having(有了想干什么的心情,就是 想干…… I have pulled all-nighters for a week, and I’m desperately in mood for a good sleep!

pig out:to eat alarge quantity of food(看见pig意思就知道的差不多了,大吃一顿,前面是不是讲了一个相似的短语? I’m not that hungry for dinner because I pigged out on potato chips in the afternoon.

sick of:tired of(对某事感到烦恼,厌倦了,比如邻居太吵了,你就说:I'm sick of my neighbor's loud music.

up for:wanting to do a particular activity(乐意干,打算,想要,可以替换willing,有时也可以说成down for,比如你和几个朋友刚吃完饭,就提议:Anybody up for a movie?

walk-in only:a restaurant or service provider that does not take reservations(不接受预订的,比如你和朋友要去餐厅吃饭,你朋友说要不要预订一下,你就说:It's walk-in only, so we don’t have to.
