多义短语的用法

5. clear up清理，消除，放晴，澄清，解释，完成

异同之处：clear up可以表示“放晴”的意思时，其主语通常是it表示天气。

例1：These changes havecleared up much of the confusion and conflict that followed in the wake of the 1976 legislation. (2014年6月六级)

这些变化消除了许多因1976年立法而产生的矛盾和冲突。

语法结构：These changes是主语（These是前置定语），have cleared up是谓语，much of the confusion and conflict是宾语（much用于修饰不可数名词），that引导定语从句，在从句中作主语，followed是谓语，in the wake of the 1976 legislation是状语。

例2：It will clear up the day after tomorrow.

后天天就晴了。

语法结构：It是主语（It可以表示天气），will clear up是谓语，the day after tomorrow是时间状语。

例3：I will have cleared up my work at this time on Friday.

周五的这个时候，我的工作就完成了。
