这又是一首典型的英语儿歌，从五开始不断减少，直到没有，然后来一个“意料之外、情理之中”的结尾，皆大欢喜。这其实是在教孩子利用自己的五根手指数数。有时我们会看到，一些版本是教孩子用两只手、总共10根手指数数，这时歌曲的名字就会变成Ten Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed，十只小猴子在床上跳来跳去，反正这歌也好唱，每节就改一下第一个词，不费事。
