Nearly 6,000 species of animals and about 30,000 species of plants are listed in the various appendices of the Convention on InternationalTrade in Endangered Species (CITES) to protect them against over-exploitation.

species/ˈspiːʃiːz/ n.
over-exploitation/ˈəʊvə(r) ˌeksplɔɪˈteɪʃn/ n.

1. Pandas are an endangered species.

2.Illustrative, examples are detailed in the appendices

3.Whole ecosystems can also be affected by over-exploitation.

Nearly 6,000 species of animals and about 30,000 species of plants是主语,其中Nearly和about是前置定语,of animals和 of plants都是后置定语,are listed是谓语(被动语态), in the various appendices of the Conventionon International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) to protect them against over-exploitation整个是地点状语,of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES)是介词词组作后置定语,to protect them against over-exploitation是不定式词组作后置定语
