Dear Stephen,

  I am writing to tell you about my problem with my teacher. I don't know how to deal with it and would like your help. You know I am crazy about space travel and in my spare time I often go to the library to find something to read. This makes my teacher very angry. To him, good marks are everything and I should spend more time on my lessons, even at weekends.

 I think healthy hobbies are helpful for our studies. If I can achieve a balance between my schoolwork and my hobby, it will be of great value to my future development. But I don't think my teacher understands me. I feel bad about that. What shall I do? Can you offer me some suggestions?

STEP 2 学习文中出现的易错/亮点表达

1. be crazy about  something：非常喜爱某事

e.g. Young people all seems to be crazy about such things.

年轻人看起来对这些东西都非常感兴趣。

2. something to read：一些可以读的东西

之前我们讲过【不定式 to】作后置定语时，与被修饰名词的4种常见关系——

    1. 主谓关系：a person to do the work /  the first to come

    2. 动宾关系（动宾关系的动词是及物动词vt. 如果是不及物动词vi.需要带上介词）：a lot of books to read / advice to follow / nothing to worry about

    3. 动状关系：a pen to write with / five items to choose from / no house to live in

    4. 同位关系：no need to see a doctor/ the way to keep fit / the ability to speak another language

此句型就属于【动宾关系】的后置修饰，to read something，这类句型非常有用，大家积累起来~

something to eat       食物（一些吃的）

something to drink     饮料（一些喝的）

3.make somebody + adj. make小词活用，在Day41的晨读中讲过make的3种普遍含义，这里就属于第3种~

make = to cause tobe, to become, or to appear as v. 使变成，使得

e.g.I can make myself understood in French, but I'm not fluent. 

  我能努力听懂法语，但是不能流利使用。

make it easy     使它变得容易

make me happy     使我变得开心

make yourself understood   使你自己能够理解

4. be helpful for something/somebody 对某事/某人有益处， helpful 有用的（修饰物），热心助人的（修饰人）

e.g. Healthy hobbies are helpful for our studies.

  有利健康的爱好也有助于我们的学习。

e.g. Receiving comments is very helpful (for us).

  听听别人的评论大有裨益。

5. acheive a balance between A and B    动词词组，在A与B中取得平衡

e.g. I can achieve a balance between my schoolwork and my hobby.

   我能够平衡我的学业和爱好。

6. A is of great value to B   动词词组，A对B有很大的价值

e.g. The experience will be of great value to us.

这些经验对我们有很大价值。 

7. feel bad about something  动词词组，对某事的感觉不太好

e.g. Too often we are hard on ourselves and feel bad about our lack of progress.

我们常常对自己很刻薄，为自己没有进步而难过。

STEP 3 再次朗读全文直到能够背诵

本文是标准的【电子邮件】作文，文章的开头和结尾都是可以直接仿写的，大家注意积累~另外，昨天的晨读中我们学习了很多作文中必备的连词，我们知道 even if, even though是连词，那么今天这个even呢？

e.g. I should spend more time on my lessons, even at weekends.

even at weekends 甚至是在周末，此处even是副词，用来修饰同样是副词的时间状语 at weekends

 even if, even though是连词，但是even 是副词，大家注意辨别哦~~

假如你是李华,就个人爱好带来的困惑给英国朋友Stephen发电子邮件进行交流并请求帮助。

要点:
写信人：李华
爱好：对太空旅行感兴趣，经常到图书馆阅读资料。
困惑：得不到老师的理解。

1.李华观点：个人爱好有助于学习。
2.老师观点：（至少一点）时间应花在功课上；成绩就是一切。

注意:

1. 词数: 80个左右(开头和结尾已给出的内容不记入总词数)；

2. 内容必须包括上表中的要点,可适当发挥,但不要逐字翻译；

3. 条理清楚、语句连贯；

4. 文中不得出现真实的地名、校名和人名。
