Obviously, they themselves have created them! Children are very active and creative language learners. They do not need to hear every sentence to be able to say it. They can make sense of the world from what they see and hear and create their own utterances when there is a need for them to express their own ideas. Parents seldom try to correct children even if some ne of the utterances are not grammatically correct. On the contrary, they often feel very amused at children's creativity. Foreign language learners, we believe, can be just as creative as first language learners. We simply need to be patient and tolerant, and try to create opportunities for them to develop their language through experimenting and communicating with others. |
