【原】一张登山照，震惊全世界丨说英闻

本月22日，美国登山家卡什（Donald Lynn Cash）从珠峰上下来时因高原反应晕倒，随后死亡。 

 “能够站在珠峰上，我觉得非常幸运。”这是他发给儿子的最后一条短信。

媒体称卡什的不幸丧生很可能因为登顶时等候的时间过长，消耗太多体力。

尼泊尔登山者Nirmal Purja当天在脸书上发布了一张照片，引发全球关注。

他估计当时等着登顶的有大约320人。

据CNN报道，截止5月27日，珠峰“拥堵”导致的死亡人数已上升至11人。

在今年的春季登山季，尼泊尔已经发放了创纪录的381张许可证，每张价格1.1万美元。

Nepal issued a record 381 permits costing $11,000 each for the current spring climbing season.

由于登山者至少雇佣一位登山向导，估计攀登珠峰的人数多达1000人。

不过据《纽约时报》报道，尼泊尔旅游局局长吉米雷表示，今年珠峰登山死亡人数上升的主要原因并不是“拥堵”，天气的原因也不可忽视，因为今年适宜登山的天数减少。

华盛顿大学医学院教授安德鲁·卢克斯(Andrew Luks)则表示高原反应本身并不致命，但高原反应的并发症会严重威胁到登山者的生命。

登山者出现高原反应通常会头疼，也可能会出现恶心、呕吐、嗜睡和头晕目眩。

已经24次登顶珠峰的卡米·瑞塔·夏尔巴（Kami Rita Sherpa）在接受新华社记者专访时表示：“死亡不是因为人太拥挤，而是因为人太固执。”

An American mountaineer has become the 11th person in two weeks to die on Mount Everest as Sherpas and tour operators alike blame an influx of inexperienced climbers and budget tour operators for the spike in fatalities.

Christopher John Kulish, 61, from Colorado, did not show any sign of distress when summiting the world’s highest mountain on Monday morning but died suddenly after descending.

Ed Dohring, a doctor from Arizona, had dreamed his whole life of reaching the top of Mount Everest. But when he summited a few days ago, he was shocked by what he saw.

Climbers were pushing and shoving to take selfies. The flat part of the summit, which he estimated at about the size of two Ping-Pong tables, was packed with 15 or 20 people.
