The Sharing Man

Once, there lived an old man who had no money. He ate what he found on the land. He shared his food with the animals and birds around him.

One winter, he sat with his head in his hands. “I can’t find any food on the land,” he cried. “The mushrooms are gone. The dandelions and berries are gone. I will starve.”

But the Forest Fairy heard his cry. She spoke to the squirrels and birds. “Your friend needs your help now,” she said.

The squirrels brought nuts from hiding places in the trees. The birds brought dried berries from hiding places in the ground. “Here,” they said to the man. “Share our food.”

The foxes curled up to warm the old man’s feet, and the deer nestled beside him. The man ate the nuts and berries, warm and happy with his friends.

从前，有一个没有钱的老人。他吃他在陆地上找到的东西。他和周围的动物和鸟儿们分享食物。

一年冬天，他双手抱着头坐着。“我在地上找不到食物了，”他哭道。“蘑菇不见了。蒲公英和浆果都不见了。我会饿死的。”

但是森林仙女听到了他的哭声。她对松鼠和鸟儿们说：“你们的朋友现在需要你们的帮助。”

松鼠从树上的藏身处带来坚果。鸟儿们从地里的藏身处拿来了干浆果。“来，”他们对老人说。“分享我们的食物。”

狐狸们蜷起身子给老人暖脚，鹿也在他旁边窝着。这个男人吃着坚果和浆果，和他的朋友们一起，温暖而快乐。
