认真填好了给会议的评估表格，给自己一个开心的截屏。 这次会议的反馈表有六页，分三个主要部分： 第一部分是三段话的导言，感谢之余主要就是提醒与会代表我们明年会在伦敦开年会、轮值主席是谁； 第二部分是请参会人员对会议内容安排、会场与餐饮、会议app及宣传通知给出打分，每个打分后面还有一个开放性的问题。 第三部分是请参会人员给自己的参会体验打分，还会问一下与其他会议比较这个会议是超出期待、一般还是很差劲，最后又回到了“明年你还来不？”的问题。 而这篇推送的主要内容是我的参会体验，是我在学校报销开会费用的时候需要我与凭证（我这次报名费、住宿发票、火车票、参会证书）一起提交的内容。

It is the first time I am surrounded by so many passionate geographers, which is understandable and in my expectation. The beyond expectation is that the conference was so inclusive that I not only talked to geographers, I also met anthropologists, artists, economists, and gardeners. The beginning of my 4-day experience in Cardiff university was food geographies. The session organisers invited not only researchers but also shop owners to share their thoughts over the challenges and the problems they want to discuss. After the lunchtime, we walked through the parks and streets for almost an hour to a global garden. This project is aiming at connecting different cultures by community growing. The space exits to support the idea of sharing food and cultures. I enjoyed the gardening and contributed my own recipe*: https://www./single-post/2018/08/30/SWEET-POTATO-STEMS The one-day workshop also helped me build up deeper connection with people who walked with me. The hands-on activities not only awakened everyone’s different but friendly side, but also remind us that every little bit counts for our planet earth. When the conversation mode was switched on, the following days is like a party for deeper connection. We not only got to know the researches, the lunch on the grass also cultivated the atmosphere for honest communication. During coffee breaks, people just started to chat with anyone nearby. Before the food geographies workshop, I may feel a bit uncomfortable doing this. Thanks to the first-day experience, I can talk to people about the interesting events I experienced. To be honest, I can talk all and all night about the inspiring moments from the conferences’ different sessions. But I do not think it is worthwhile enough in this one-page experience sharing. I am not sure who will see this record because it is for claiming back my expenses. Therefore, I try to say something more accessible to the public and hopefully someone who also consider participating this conference someday. Besides the academic world, I also explored National Museum Cardiff three times. The first time was an after-lunch walk with my Chilean colleague. We visited the Japanese Exhibition and shared our experiences with different cultures in this globalised world. The second visit was a reception by the Cardiff university. Their geographers showed the literary of atlas in the hall, along with some booklets and postcards. The film they made with artists were so fascinating that I wish one day I can also work with some artists to visualise my own work. The third time visit was my last day in Cardiff. I skipped one session in the afternoon to buy me more time in the museum. I spent some time in special exhibitions and chatted with a Japanese researcher in the corridor. It was also his first experience in such a big conference. His research focused on open gardens. But we actually met each other at a previous lunch meeting: the geographies of education working group. It is the time that I felt that I am not the only one who is concerned with education, teaching and learning.
