西魏纪年造像凤毛麟角，目前仅发现两例，即天津市艺术博物馆藏大统元年像，图载于松原三郎，《中国仏教雕刻史研究》，东京，1995年，图版297c及芝加哥美术馆藏大统五年像，出处同 上，图版296。虽造于西魏大统五年，其垂褶、结带皆酷似六世纪初北魏龙门石窟所见汉化风格。此类汉化风格初现云冈石窟，490年代，第5、6窟，录于《中国美术全集·雕塑编10：云冈石窟雕刻》，北京，1988年，页32-71。比较一石雕佛坐像，540年造，录于松原三郎，出处同上，东京，1995年，图版259B。
