对照笔记一起学习，效果最好。 理解，明白 Get the picture I did not know that Michael and Mary were dating. I saw them together in the park and soon got the picture. 我不知道迈克尔和玛丽在约会。当我看到他们一起在公园的时候，我马上就明白了。 You've said enough. I get the picture. 你说的够多了。我已经明白了。
理解，掌握 Get the hang of sth I got a new phone. It was complicated at first but when I read the leaflet I soon got the hang of it and was able to use it. 我有一个新手机。最开始觉得它很复杂，但是当我看了传单的时候，我很快就掌握了窍门并且使用它。 Don't worry, in a few days you'll get the hang of it. 别担心。不用多久你就能掌握了。
搞清楚，弄明白  Get your head around sthMy boss gave me a complicated task, but I can't get my head around the problem. 老板给了我一个很复杂的任务，但是我还没搞清楚问题。 I just can't get my head around these tax forms. 我搞不懂这些税单。
04. 不理解，不懂 Can't make heads or tails of sth I listened carefully to my English teacher but I couldn't make heads or tails of the grammar rules he was trying to explain. 我很认真地听英语老师讲课，但是我还是搞不懂他试图解释的语法规则。 His handwriting was so bad that we couldn't make heads or tails out of it. 他的字太糟糕了，我看不懂。
灰色地带 A grey area He had two bosses both of them frequently gave him orders. He was not clear as to which one he should report to. It wasagrey area for him. 他有两个老板，他们都经常给他下命令。他不清楚该向哪个部门汇报。对他来说，这是一个灰色地带。 I am afraid that this is a grey area that is much open to interpretation. 恐怕这是一个很容易解释的灰色地带。
06. 指体会言外之意 Read between the lines She said she was fine, but reading between the lines I think she has broken up with her boyfriend. 她说她过的很好，但是听她的言外之意，我觉得她和男朋友分手了。 He said he could afford it, but reading between the lines I don't think he has enough money. 他说能够负担得起，但是听他的言外之意，我觉得他没有足够的钱。
