高考大纲考点100条加重点题型分析：“another +数词+ 复数 =

                                                            数词 + more +复数”结构

“another +数词+ 复数 = 数词+ more +复数”结构表达“在原有基础上想再要多少。。。”的意思。比如：

例一：We already have three apples.May I have another five (apples)?

      我们已有三个苹果，我可以再要五个吗？

例二：They have fought three days and three nights. They must fight

      for  another 3 hours before retreating.

      他们已经战斗了三天三夜，但撤退前还必须再打三个小时。

     上面的another five apples, another 3 hours也可以换成 five more

apples, 3 more hours 表达完全同样的意思。只是要注意another和more用词位置的不同。

比较： 数词+ other+ 复数，表示“另外几个”

如：

1. We need another three desks= We need three more desks= We

   need three  desks more.

2．If you want to change for a double room, you’ll pay another fifteen

      dollars=

      you’ll pay fifteen more dollars= you’ll pay fifteen dollars more.

防止搞混是用another还是用more的简单记忆诀窍：

1. 语法规定another必须是后接单数名词的（other后面跟复数名词in another country =in other countries），如another week, another boy（这个基本语法概念应该有吧？）

        既然如此，说three another weekS当然就是和前述语法规定“冲突”或想矛盾的，所以another当然不能放在three 和weeks之间，也就是放在一个复数-s的名词前面，所以改放three前面，让three 和weeks保持复数一致就即可。

       答题时如果能有效记起这句话，选择就有了可靠根据。

2. more是可以直接后跟复数名词的，more bookS, more storIES，这样的表达大家都不会成问题（这个基本语法概念大家也同样有吧？）。既然如此，说成three或任何数字 more deskS/dollarS怎么又会犯迷糊起来呢？无非就是在more前面多加个数字名词two,three等等嘛！

       把这几个“溯本求源”的概念弄清晰了，用another还是more基本就不会选错了。

3. I want to renew the book for_____ weeks and borrow _____ ones.

    A. another two; two other new B. two other; other two new

    C.another two ; two new other D. two more; new two other

4. The school’s music group will be giving a big show tomorrow night

    and two ____ on the weekend.

    A. more    B.other    C. else    D. another

5．---____ guests are about to come here in 5minutes.

     --- Ok,I’ll fetch ___ chairs here.

     A.Three other, another three B. Three other, three another

     C. Other three, another three D. Other three, three another .

     five more apples和five other apples本为“形似义不同”、风牛马不相及的表达结构，但因为“形似”被出题者故意放在一起“迷惑”考生，结果弄得考生也跟着犯迷糊起来。

例一：They already have three students to help them,but they need

           another two/two more students to help them.

          已有三个学生帮忙，还再要两个。

例二：Two students are already here, but where are the other three?

           两个学生已经到了，另外三个在哪里？
