it作形式主语，动词不定式作真正主语

本名言两句话，第一句是简单句，主系表结构，介词短语like a muscle作表语。第二句是复合句，主谓宾结构，宾语是由that引导的宾语从句，在其中包含一个the more...the more...引导的比较结构，前一个the more引导比较状语从句，后一个the more是（宾语从句中的）主句，在这个主句中，it作形式主语，真正的主语是动词不定式的否定结构to not let my fears run me。为帮助你正确理解，可试着用正序来读：To not let my fears run me becomes more natural.

前面我们讲过，动词不定式在句中作主语时，当动词不定式较长时，一般用形式主语it代替，而把不定式放在句子后部，这样使得句子更为平衡。形式为：It is…(for/of sb) to do sth. 而在今天的句子中，系动词is变成了becomes。这个用法也常见于the more...the more...比较结构中。
