 英文中表示商店的单词是 shop 和 store，前者是英语，后者美语，大多数的店，都可以用这两个单词来表示； 如： meat store（肉店） bookstore（书店） clothing store（衣店） toystore（玩具店） pet store（宠物店） hardware store（五金店） gift store（礼品店） souvenir store（纪念品店）等； 有些店有专属的单词，如： florist（花店） stationer（文具店） grocery（杂货店） bakery（面包店） pharmacy（药店） outlet（专卖店） boutique（女装店，精品店） commissary（军事基地或监狱的杂货店）等； 除了这些，今天给大家小结各类型的 store： 01 convenience store 这是街头巷尾最常见的店，中文直译"便利店"； 它的规模可大可小，一般出售日常生活用品，零食烟酒等，有的全天开放，有的甚至还是国际连锁，如： 更多的是家庭自主经营，叫 family-owned store，或者还有一种更亲切的说法：mom-and-pop store（爸妈店）： 02 department store department store 即“百货商店”，在规模，商品种类方面都远远大于 convenience store： 03 discount store discount 意思是“打折”，所以，discount store 就是折扣店： 04 extreme discount store 在 discount store 前面加个 extreme（极其），可见，打折力度更大了，差不多是打到骨折的那种了： 05 speciality store speciality 意思是“专门”，所以，speciality store 即“专卖/营店”： 这种店还分为 franchise store 和 exclusive store； franchise 意思是"授权，特许"，franchise store 可以同时出售好几个授权品牌的的商品； exclusive 意思是"排他的"，所以，exclusive store 只能出售一个品牌的商品。 06 off-price goods store off-price 意思是“优惠的”，价格之所以较优惠，是因为这些商品通常有瑕疵，或者运输过程中遭到一定的损坏，以及滞销货； 当然也包括二手商品商店：used goods store
07 e-commerce store e-commerce 中的e与 e-mail中的e是一样的，都是“electronic（电子）”的意思； 因此，e-commerce store 就是"网店"，更通俗一点的就是 online store。
当然，这类型的也包括下载软件的 app store（应用商店），app 是 application 的缩写，所以读作 /æp/，而不是A-P-P!
08 warehouse store warehouse 意思是"仓库", warehouse store 就是"仓储式商店"； 什么是仓储式商店，顾名思义，就是像仓库一样的商店，这种商店通常以批发为主，零售为辅； 麦德龙算是一个比较典型的例子吧：
