本周我们着重聊了刻意训练在打磨技能中的应用。上一篇用考研英语小作文的案例集中具体的介绍了刻意训练的方法。既然说到了英语写作，本篇就接着上一篇的内容补充一下英语写作的其他方面。 1.清楚每句话要写什么 上一篇我们说到准备作文时要精准到写几句话，每一句话都写什么，这是很多人没有想过的问题。不思考这个问题有两个常见的后果，一个是无话可写，再一个是写出来的东西没有逻辑。 我们先来看一个考研英语图表作文的例子，不必看每句话写了什么： There are two primary factors contributing to the above-mentioned phenomenon. On the one hand, the quality of local cars has improved dramatically. Advancements in science and technology have offered a technical foundation for the rapid development of the quality of the Chinese automobile industry by providing a material basis and technical means. On the other hand, the trust of Japanese brands has been alleviated in the Chinese market. Accidents of Japanese cars have been continuously taken place on the road due to a series of quality problems. In addition, the reputation was weakened with the dishonest words of major Japanese brands, like Toyota. 这里，粗体字为总括；蓝字为topic sentence,可以理解为一个抽象概括；红字为解释，是蓝字的展开。这样，一个段落就成为了一个清晰的树状结构的展现。至于红字解释的部分，可以写背景，可以把蓝字的概念具象化，可以举例子，这就又是下一层结构了。 为了刻意训练，我们可以把不同颜色的部分分开训练。但是在一开始训练大段文章的时候，谨记把段落按颜色分开，以便知道为什么写这句话，整段的结构是什么。 2.没写的怎么办？让步 凡事皆可让步。让步可以看作是自己怼自己。因为凡事皆可怼，所以凡事皆可让步。每当没话可写的时候，脑子里就蹦出两个字，让步！ 我们来试试看。 日本汽车品牌声誉下降（尽管日本汽车一直以安全著称，然而，接连发生的事故让日系汽车声誉大受打击）; 春节很重要（尽管现如今很多人抱怨春节的仪式感大不如前，然而春节仍然是中国人最重要的节日）; 农村人口往城市转移（虽然我们不能得出所有人都愿意生活在城市的结论，但是不可否认的是随着城市的发展，城市公司对于劳动力的需求增加，工作机会充足） … 据我观察，一个人练习多了托福GRE，说话就会经常充满了让步。看一个人说话是不是深刻，就看他会不会让步。让步主观上是为了凑字数，客观上其实增加了思考的深度，让自己的论点更加站得住脚，也更加理性。 3. 不准用非法词汇 No illegal words！ Many, good, bad, think, interesting, important, big, want… 这些就是我所谓的非法词汇，也就是那些陈词滥调的小学词汇。每当想写下这些词的时候，脑子里就应该想起警报声，“等等，有没有其他词可以替换？”。 考试是备考过程的展现。你如果准备了一百个替代important的好词，最后考试还是写了important，你和完全没准备过的人差距何在？ 开一个word文档，专门记录同义词替换及其例句和其他可用作模板的写作句子。每次写完一篇作文以后打开这个word检查一下是否可以通过已有的积累加以改进。 附录里面放了一些每篇文章必会用到的词语的同义替换。 4.及时反馈 及时反馈一方面是找老师或者高水平同学修改，但是毕竟大家都是中国人，另一个办法是直接找原汁原味的相关表述进行学习。 比如说，书信作文中有一篇是“欢迎国际生，给他们介绍图书馆信息”的文章。去随便搜索一个国外大学的图书馆网页，你会看到如下描述: The School houses the Centre for LabourStudies and manages the British Columbia Inter-University Research Data Centre. Hence, unique training opportunities and access to data and computing resources are available to our students. The School has its own computer lab for the exclusive use of our graduate students. The School lounge offers a comfortable space to chat with colleagues and faculty over coffee, and for study groups to meet to analyze and work out issues of debate in depth. The UBC Library collection numbers over one million volumes. In terms of economics material, the holdings are particularly extensive in serial publications and the post-war literature. 学校提供独特的训练机会，数据资源；仅为研究生开放的电脑室；休息室供学生老师讨论问题等等。多好多地道的表达啊，恨不得每一句都能直接用在这篇文章里面。 总结一下，本周我们讨论了刻意训练的几个应用。 1.学习任何技能之前要先制造刚需。 2.刻意训练的几个步骤: 短期大量输入，拆分任务，刻意训练，及时反馈，日日不断。 3.我们分别列举了如何学一门软件，如何学一门乐器，如何练习英语写作三个案例来展现刻意训练在磨练技能中的运用。 希望对你在大学中学习一门技能有所帮助！ 附：常见的同义词替换 Think: contend(主张)/maintain/assert(断言)/suggest/claim/hold/observe/insist(坚持认为)/propose(提出)/ assume/ reckon(估计，认为，断定，估摸着) Important: pivotal (枢纽作用的)/full-bodied (a full-bodied study of genetic engineering)/decisive（起关键作用的）critical/key/vital/imperative(绝对必要)/nontrivial Many： 大量 a large amount of/ a cornucopia of (employment opportunities)/a couple of/ a great many of/a plethora of/legion (adj.)/越来越多的ingrowing numbers/in mounting numbers /a wealth of/a handful of Good： 对...有好处be conducive to/salutary有益的/beneficial/propitious有利的，合适的/commendable 好的，值得赞扬的(commendable features)/eminent杰出的/favorable讨喜的 Big: Immense/colossal/vast/mighty/enormous 注意：同义替换的词本身必须放在例句中才有意义。篇幅限制这里没有放例句，只是为了打个小样，自己收集的时候务必把例句加进去。 几种让步 1.Granted that..., ... does ...必须承认的是， 但...确实... 2.即使乍看起来 There are good reasons to advocate for internationalized culture for those ideas from other cultures, controversial or even absurd at first sight, can, in the long run, provide a different perspective for us to observe the world. 3.Indeed, ... However, ... not to mention... 4.albeit e.g. Albeit difficult, the job is getting done. 5.much as e.g. Much as I hate to go, it's now or never. 6.notwithstanding e.g. His fiery speaking style notwithstanding, has long been seen as the moderate face of his political party. |
