Thinking About Mistakes Han Yanshou was a prefecture in the Western Han Dynasty. One day, he went to Gaoling County and met two brothers quarreling for family property, even fighting with each other. They came to complain about this to him. Han Yanshou was so ashamed. He said: “ As a prefecture, I didn’t educate them well. I should quit my job and give the position to someone who is more capable.” Then, he stayed at home alone and thought about his mistakes. The two brothers were moved by him and apologized to him tearfully. 西汉时，韩延寿担任太守。一天，他到高陵县巡视，碰上一对兄弟为争家产而吵闹不休，甚至大打出手，最后来向他告状。韩延寿十分惭愧地说：“我作为太守，没能教化好百姓，以致让这类事情发生，我应该辞去官职，让给更有能力的人来干。”之后，他独自一人呆在屋里，闭门思过。那两个告状的兄弟被他的言行感动了，流着泪向他请罪。
