老友记第一季第一集里面有一段Ross 和 Rachel的对话，再外企日常工作和生活中会经常用到，尤其是里面的“Be supposed to do something”句型。

-Ross: So Rachel, what're you, uh... what're you up to tonight?Rachel，你打算如何渡过今晚？

-Rachel: Well, I was kinda supposed to be headed for Aruba on my honeymoon, so nothing!我本应该在前往阿鲁巴渡蜜月的途中，现在没有了！

Ross问Rachel晚上有什么计划，Rachel说他本应该是要前往阿鲁巴度蜜月，但是现在没什么事了。

Be supposed to do something, 意为“应该做什么”，“本应该做什么”。

E. g1，I was supposed to talk to my manager regarding my annual summary Y2021 today, but he was on PTO due to personal affairs.

我今天本来要和我的经理谈我的2021年年度总结，但是他因为私人事务没来上班。

E. g2, Theoretically, the cost benefit is supposed to be figured out based on sensible yield and cycle time.

理论上来说，应该在合理的良率和工时的基础上得出成本优势。
