By the time he reached his early twenties, Jean-Michel Basquiat was a veritable art star. His meteoric rise to fame in the 1980s is legendary. Within the space of a few years the penniless and homeless young artist was commanding international attention for his raw, highly-coded paintings that evoke the gritty reality of urban life.

Jean Michel Basquet is an American graffiti artist and one of the representatives of new art after World War II. In the early 1980s, his street graffiti art was appreciated by pop culture leader Andy Warhol and was able to enter the house. Andy Warhol helped Basquet a lot. They once created and communicated together. In 1981, Warhol invited Basquet to participate in the exhibition called "New York / new wave". After that, the art youth officially entered the mainstream art circle, and the rough and unruly and grass-roots began to shine.
