Lesson 4 The double life of Alfred Bloggs

在办公室:in the offices or in offices? the 是特指。

Nowadays, labor workers get much higher salary than people who work in the offices.

原:These days, people who do manual work often receive far more money than people who work in offices.

原文的不错 for the simple reason that

我:Peope who work in the offices often called “white collars” just because they usually wear whilte hard collar and a tie to go to work.

原:People who work in offices are frequently referred to as "white-collar workers' for the simple reason that they usually wear a collar and tie to go to work.

情愿放弃:willing to,would like to 二者啥区别? would like to 是心里边就想去做。

此乃...:原文的用法 Such is …., that,我总用不好,所以不敢随便用,就只好朴实的 it is…that…

It’s human nature that many people would like to give up higher salary for the honor of being a white collar worker.

原:Such is human nature, that a great many people are often willing to sacrifice higher pay for the privilege of becoming white-collar workers.

….就是一个例子:….., as it did in the case of 可以套用了以后。

我:And this often caused various strange phenomenons, among which Fred.Bullos who work as a cleaner in Estmier company is the one.

原:This can give rise to curious situations, as it did in the case of Alfred Bloggs who worked as a dustman for the Ellesmere Corporation.
