「对话文本」 好的,现在最后一项议程。吉尔,我们再仔细查看下损益表。 噢,这儿,主要问题,可以看到,我们的开支增加了。 A: Let's see... These numbers are off the charts! What's going on here! 我看看。。这些数额已经超出预算了!这到底怎么回事! B: Well, um, sir, the company expenditures on entertainment and travel are out of control. Look at these bills for example. 好了,现在是时候来讲解一下对话中的核心词汇了。 So the first word is expense.
So, expenses are things that you have to spend money on regularly. For example, in a company, regular company expenses are salaries or office supplies or the phone bills, internet bills. 举个例子,在一个公司里,正常的公司开销是工资,办公用品,电话费,网络费。那除了公司里的费用,还有一种很常见的开支,就是household expenses — 家庭开支。 It might be your food, perhaps your transportation or your rent or your heating bills, so, these are all things you spend money on regularly.
So, expenditures sound pretty close to expenses, right? 所以,支出听起来很接近开支,对不对? It’s pretty similar, but it has a little bit of a difference, so, why don’t we listen to some examples and see if we can understand? Example 1(例1) : Example 2(例2): So, expenditures is the total amount of money that you’re spending on something. Now let’s move on to our third word - analysis. 让我们继续来看我们的第三个单词 analysis。 「实用口语表达」
Let’s take a look at our first phrase for today – go over.
This is a really common phrase and it basically means “look at something carefully”. For example, I need to go over this report one last time to make sure there’re no mistakes. Now let's look at our second phrase and it's “through the roof”. So, when something is through the roof, it’s really, really, really high. 所以当事情是激增的时候,它是非常,非常,非常高。 So, for example, we can talk about gas prices are through the roof lately. 所以,例如, 我们可以谈论最近汽油价格猛涨。
So, this one is very similar to through the roof. It also means really high. 所以,这个词和激增很像。这也意味着非常高。 So, let’s listen to some examples of how we can use off the charts in a different situation. Example (例2): 那在这里,可以把off the charts换为through the roof吗?答案是可以的,可以使用off the charts或through the roof,两者的意思是一样 。它们在商业场合很常用。 Now let's look at our last phrase. And it's “out of control”. Now, it's time for us to review what we've learned today. 现在我们来回顾一下今天所学习的,要跟上我一起来认真回顾,思考起来。 「今日所学回顾」 1. 发音重点: 辅元连读+Flap T:out of 辅元连读+Flap T:get it 2. 单词重点: expense n. 开销 expenditure n. 支出 analysis n. 分析 3. 表达重点: Alright, that's all for today. Thanks for coming. Hope you enjoy today's lesson. |
