Let's look at some useful tips that help you improve your English pronunciation. 欢迎回来。我们来看一些能帮助你提升英语发音的技巧。 1. 弱读：have 对话中： I have been reading a lot of books about the subject. 弱读分析： 在句子中，意思相对不重要，用来帮助动词体现时态变化的单词，比如助动词have, 就可以弱读。像dialogue里的 “have been reading”, 就是用到现在完成进行时（have/has been doing sth.），表示持续在进行的动作“最近一直在看书”，这里have是构成现在完成进行时的一部分，没有实际的意义，所以可以弱读。 注意： have可以弱读为/həv/，第二个音标变为/ə/，发/ə/时，舌头自然放松放平在口腔里； have还可以弱读为/əv/，省掉前面的/h/，对话里的女主就是弱读为/əv/。 复述： I have been reading a lot of books about the subject. 2. 弱读：and 对话中： seeds and tools 弱读分析： 在一个句子中，意思相对不重要的, 没有实际意义的单词，可以做弱读，比如连词and, 可以弱读为/ən/。 复述： seeds and tools 「核心单词掌握」 We heard a lot of vocabulary related to gardening in this dialogue and right now we're gonna explain them. 我们在这段对话中听到了很多有关园艺的词汇，现在我们来一起看一下。 The first one is fertilizer. 第一个单词是“fertilizer”。 1. fertilizer /ˈfɜːrtəlaɪzər/ n.肥料 Fertilizer is something we use to help the plants grow. Some people don't like it, because it smells bad. 肥料，是我们用来帮助植物生长的，但是有些人会不喜欢它，因为它闻起来气味不好。 Okay, I'll give you an example. 好，来举个例子。 I only use organic fertilizer in my garden. 在我的花园里，我只用有机肥料。 Now I'm gonna mention four gardening tools. 现在我要来说4个园艺相关的词汇。 The first one is rake. 第一个是“rake”。 2. rake /reɪk/ n. 耙 A rake is used for gathering fallen leaves and making soil smooth. 它是用来收集落叶和松土的。 So let's have a look of a rake. 那么我们来看一下耙的样子。  不要只顾着看好看的图片噢，可以通过图片来记忆rake这个单词。另外这也是天蓬元帅的武器噢，你记住了吗？ Alright, the other tool we have is very common. It is a shovel. 好的，另外一个工具很常见。它是“shovel”。 3. shovel /ˈʃʌvl/ n. 铁铲 A shovel, which is used to move snow, sand and earth. 铁铲是用来运雪，沙子和土。 So what does a shovel look like? 那么铁铲长什么样子呢？ 下面我们通过图片一起来记住shovel。  And a smaller shovel you use it with your hands is called spade. 你用的小一点的铁铲叫做spade。 4. spade /speɪd/ n.铁锹 They have a narrow head, which is used for digging. 铁锹，它们有一个窄的头，是用来挖土的。 Let's take a look at the spade. 我们来看一下铁锹。  Okay, our last tool is hoe. 好的，我们最后一个工具是“hoe”。 5. hoe /həʊ/ n. 锄头 A hoe is a gardening tool, which you use it to cultivate and weed. 锄头是一个用来耕作，除杂草的园艺工具。 Here is a picture of a hoe. 这是一张锄头的照片。  Now let's move on to two verbs that are very important when you talk about gardening. 现在来看两个谈论园艺时非常重要的动词. The first verb is till. 第一个动词是“till”。 6. till /tɪl/ v. 耕种 We heard “ till the soil” in our dialogue. 我们在对话里听到耕土的表达。 To till, is to prepare the soil for planting. 耕种，就是准备好土壤来种植。 So what we do after the soil has been tilled? 耕种之后我们做什么呢？ We sow the seeds. 我们播种。 And the second verb we take a look at is sow. 我们第二个看的动词是“sow”。 7. sow /səʊ/ v. 播种 The opposite of sowing is reaping. 播种的反义词是收获。 Actually, it has a very popular phrase. 其实，有一个非常受欢迎的短语。 You reap what you sow. 一份耕耘，一份收获。/ 种瓜得瓜，种豆得豆。 「实用口语表达」 Okay, so, we looked at some useful vocabulary and now we can look at some great phrases. 好的，刚才学了一些很实用的词汇，现在我们来学习一些很棒的短语。 Today we have three phrases. 今天我们会学习3个短语。 The first phrase is “on the contrary”. 第一个短语是“on the contrary”。 1. on the contrary 正相反 On the contrary means that it's the opposite。 on the contrary表示它是相反的。 It is a way of politely disagreeing with someone. 它是一种礼貌地表示你不同意某人的方式。 For example, - We thought you didn't like this movie. - On the contrary, I love it. - 我们以为你不喜欢这部电影。 - 相反，我很爱这部电影。 And our next phrase is “smarty pants” 我们下一个短语是“smarty pants”。 2. smarty pants 自作聪明的人 It's a person who thinks they know a lot, and they know everything. 它就是表示那种认为自己懂很多，什么都懂的人。 I'll give you an example. 举个例子。 Henry is just a smarty-pants, showing off for some girls. Henry就是一个自作聪明的人，喜欢在一些女孩子面前卖弄。 Alright, our last phrase - go about doing sth. 好的，最后一个短语“go about doing sth.”。 3. go about doing sth. 开始做某事 We heard “How will you go about setting up your garden?” How will you go about here means how will you do?
