AP English Language and Composition

(AP 英语语言与写作)

在这门考试中,主要考察学生的两个英语基本能力

1. 熟练阅读多种文体、多个历史时期的文章,能够从作者的角度思考写作手法和意图。

2. 自信写出符合题目要求、结构完整、逻辑严密和语言准确的文章,驾驭不同题材的作文。

2020年改革后的AP英语语言与写作考试总时长3小时15分钟,包含选择题和作文两部分内容:

1. 选择题部分包括45道单选题,考试时间1小时,其中阅读相关题目23~25道,写作相关题目20~22道。选择题占从成绩的45%。

2020年之前是5篇文章:每篇11题左右。现在依然是5篇文章,两篇是传统题目,三篇新题型。

2. 作文部分包括三篇写作,分别是综合型作文,分析型作文,议论型作文每篇作文建议40分钟内完成。作文占从成绩的55%。

其实阅读不管怎么改,占的比重还是只有45%。这不能磨灭AP语言依然是一门考察写作为主的考试。

College Board这次改革最引人注意的地方是对于写作评分体系的改变,过去是9分满分,现在是6分满分。

AP English and Composition辅导课计划: 

One of the goals of this course is to make students aware of the interactions among a writer’s purposes, audience expectations, and subject matter, as well as of the way genre conventions and language contribute to effectiveness in writing. The course will include readings from a variety of disciplines and will emphasize argumentative, expository, and analytical writing that forms the basis of academic and professional communication while also encouraging personal and reflective writing to foster the development of good writing in any context. The course will focus on the American Immigrant experience and will draw from a variety of sources to explore this topic. Writers include Jhumpa Lahiri, Maxine Hong Kingston, Richard Rodriguez, Carlos Bulosan, Anzia Yezierska, and Edwidge Danticat. Students will be prepared to take the AP English Language and Composition exam given in the spring. 

Goals for students: 

· Analyze and interpret samples of good writing, identifying and explaining an author’s use of rhetorical strategies and techniques;

Apply effective strategies and techniques in their own writing;

·Create and sustain arguments based on readings, research and/or personal experience;

· Write for a variety of purposes;

· Produce expository, analytical and argumentative compositions that introduce a complex central idea and develop it with appropriate evidence drawn from primary and/or secondary sources, cogent explanations and clear transitions;

· Demonstrate understanding and mastery of standard written English as well as stylistic maturity in their writings;

· Demonstrate understanding of the conventions of citing primary and secondary sources;

· Move effectively through the stages of the writing process, with careful

attention to inquiry and research, drafting, revising, editing and review;

· Write thoughtfully about their own process of composition;

· Revise a work to make it suitable for a different audience; and

· Analyze image as text.

9-11年级,英语基础较好, 喜欢文学,并且打算通过学习这门课程为大学的学术写作做下一步铺垫的话或将来选择人文社科类的专业。
