   2023年北上北艺术策划《非A》当代艺术对话国际展览,为期一年分集系列展,将邀请国内外具有影响力的当代艺术家参加,展览是无主题性多元化的状态,需要艺术家个体经验有态度的表达,在当下环境中发出自己独特的声音。

   北上北艺术坚持倡导当代艺术精神,自由灵魂、独立思考、反叛陈腐、追求原创,思考生存空间给予生命的待遇和尊严,艺术家通过自己的艺术作品启迪人们去思考和觉醒。艺术家需要建立明确的态度及艺术主张,态度决定观念,观念决定语言 ,语言决定力量,没有态度的语言是苍白的。

   当代艺术必须是具有国际视野下的艺术活动,只有站在人类文明理念去思考问题,才能认知文化语境独特性与国际性的关系,不是一枝独秀的自我欣赏,文化语境的跨越与融合是发展的必然。

  In 2023, Beishangbei Art will plan the International Exhibition of Non A Contemporary Art Dialogue, which will be a one-year diversity series exhibition. Influential contemporary artists at home and abroad will be invited to participate in the exhibition. The exhibition is in a state of non thematic diversity, requiring artists to express their own experience and attitude, and make their own unique voice in the current environment.

  Beishangbei Art insists on advocating the spirit of contemporary art, free soul, independent thinking, rebelling against staleness, pursuing originality, thinking about the treatment and dignity of life given by living space, and artists inspire people to think and awaken through their own art works. Artists need to establish clear attitudes and artistic propositions. Attitude determines ideas, ideas determine language, and language determines power. Language without attitude is pale.

  Contemporary art must be an art activity with an international perspective. Only by thinking about issues from the perspective of human civilization can we recognize the relationship between uniqueness of cultural context and internationality. It is not a unique self appreciation. The leap and integration of cultural context is inevitable for development.

1982年毕业于南京艺术学院

   近些年来,虞村一直以人类文明史上的重大事件和重要人物为主题作出自己个人化的解读,而且 尺幅巨大,人物、文字处于一种无章法、无结构、接近童趣的语言状态,主题宏大而非“宏大叙 述”,值得关注!

艺术思考:

“现代艺术”是以开拓艺术语言形式为目,它试图解决艺术本质规律的问题,它抛弃了形式语言以外的外延功能,视为艺术而艺术为独尊。“当代艺术”应该是在保持“现代艺术”基本盘的基础上,增加社会批判属性,赋予艺术家对于社会现实的关注和对社会现象的敏感反思的能力,让这一切都能组成的一个实体。中国当代社会丰富多彩、结构复杂,奇葩的极具戏剧性的事件时常发生、往往超越人们的想象,这给艺术家提供了高饱和度的信息和资源,等待艺术家去关注表达。

                                                          

Artistic thinking:

"Modern art" is aimed at developing the form of artistic language. It tries to solve the problem of the essential law of art. It abandons the extension function outside the formal language, and regards art as art and art as exclusive. "Contemporary art" should be an entity that maintains the basic plate of "modern art", increases the attribute of social criticism, and endows artists with the ability to pay attention to social reality and reflect on social phenomena sensitively, so that all these can be formed. China's contemporary society is rich and colorful, with complex structure, and dramatic events often occur, often beyond people's imagination, which provides artists with highly saturated information and resources, waiting for artists to pay attention to expression.

   我的绘画采用象征性艺术手法来表达内心意愿,不是直接面对现实场景的描绘,是以感受到现实的虚幻与错位,以荒诞的表达方式指向主题的实质,让观众自己体会作品象征的含义,来启示对人性善恶、爱恨、欲望、真诚、虚伪的思考,去唤醒人性中的理想。作品对美好事物的赞颂,对理想境界的追求,或对旧恶事物的讽刺,抨击不合理的现象,还有对生存状态以及对个体意志尊重的思考。我们往往感知到的事物不一定是真实的,人们往往用鲜花来粉饰不堪的现实,用美丽的外表装扮不堪的灵魂,迷茫的人生分裂的人格,如同变色龙一般随着环境事态的变化而改变自己的意志,不考虑自己的灵魂应该在哪里。人性中的欲望与无奈,自私与贪婪、仇恨与卑劣,如果没有坚定的信仰或不去干预控制,人性就会堕落到野蛮。人性除了自我修道,还有环境的影响,环境的状态会造就人性特征,人性特征又反映社会特征,所以我们对人性的思考一定会影射对社会的思考。

Artistic thinking:

   My painting uses symbolic artistic techniques to express the inner will. Instead of directly facing the description of realistic scenes, it is to feel the illusion and dislocation of reality and point to the essence of the theme in an absurd way of expression, so that the audience can understand the meaning of the symbol of the work, to inspire the thinking of human nature's good and evil, love and hate, desire, sincerity and hypocrisy, and to awaken the ideal in human nature. The work praises the beautiful things, pursues the ideal realm, satirizes the old and evil things, attacks the unreasonable phenomena, and thinks about the living state and respect for individual will. The things we often perceive are not necessarily true. People often use flowers to whitewash the unbearable reality, beautiful appearance to dress up the unbearable soul, and confused life split personality. Like a chameleon, they change their will with the changes of environmental events, regardless of where their soul should be. The desire and helplessness, selfishness and greed, hatred and meanness in human nature will degenerate into barbarism if there is no firm belief or no intervention and control. In addition to self-cultivation, human nature also has the influence of the environment. The state of the environment will create human characteristics, and human characteristics reflect social characteristics. Therefore, our thinking about human nature must reflect our thinking about society.

侯 伟,教授,画家。是当代具象写实画派主义的领军人物。精湛的坦培拉技法在中国独树一帜。“尘埃系列”作为侯伟教授独有的绘画语言,斩获国内外数项大奖。系享誉国内外著名的画家。

现任上海师范大学美术学院教授,硕士研究生导师,研究生专业学科带头人,中国美术家协会会员,上海美术家协会水彩协会艺委会委员,IMWA国际水彩大师协会会员。

He is currently a professor of the School of Fine Arts of Shanghai Normal University, a master's supervisor, a leader of the postgraduate discipline, a member of China Artists Association, a member of the Art Committee of Shanghai Artists Association Watercolor Association, and a member of IMWA International Watercolor Masters Association.

艺术思考:

   艺术创作离不开技术、技巧,同样的技术到底是艺术性的,抑或是纯技术性的,在其精神与效用上颇有分别。“得之于手,应于心,口不能言,有数存焉于其间。”事实上在艺术创作过程中,隐藏于作品背后的精神、境界难以言说,除了自觉自证,别无坦途。“手”的技巧是否能够适应“心”所把握的内容,而将作品创作出来,对作者本人艺术修养的总和是一种试炼,有“技近乎道”的要求。若技巧的修养不是以审美和趣味为依据,则其技巧亦将被局限于实用目的范围之内,而难以由技以进乎道,即难进入于艺术的领域。

   绘画不是对自然的简单复制,而是画家的价值体系和心灵感受以及技术要素的统一,在绘画中,我试图表达对佛学和老庄思想的感悟——画者何为?绘事何为?这些作品来自一个“尘埃”系列的创作构想。《金刚经》中有云:“一切有为法,如梦幻泡影,如露亦如电,应作如是观”,又云:“凡所有相,皆是虚妄。”《六祖坛经》中慧能偈云:“菩提本无树,明镜亦非台,本来无一物,何处惹尘埃?”《法华经》中提到,一微尘中有三千大千世界。

Artistic thinking:

  Art creation can not be separated from technology and skills. The same technology is artistic or purely technical, which is quite different in its spirit and effectiveness. "You should get it from the hand, but you can't say it, and there is something in it." In fact, in the process of artistic creation, the spirit and realm hidden behind the works are hard to say, and there is no smooth way except to consciously prove themselves. Whether the skill of "hand" can adapt to the content grasped by "heart", and creating works is a test of the total artistic accomplishment of the author, with the requirement that "skill is close to Tao". If the cultivation of skills is not based on aesthetics and interest, the skills will also be limited to the scope of practical purposes, and it is difficult to enter the realm of art from technology to Tao.

  Painting is not a simple copy of nature, but the unity of the painter's value system, spiritual feelings and technical elements. In painting, I try to express my understanding of Buddhism and Lao Zhuang's thoughts - what is the painter? What is a picture? These works come from the creative idea of a "dust" series. In the Vajra Sutra, it is said that "all actions are like illusions, bubbles and shadows, as well as dew and electricity, and should be observed as they are", and it is also said that "all appearances are illusory." Huineng said in the Six Ancestors' Jar Sutra: "Bodhi is not a tree, and a mirror is not a platform. There is nothing, so where can it cause dust?" It was mentioned in the Fahua Sutra that there are three thousand worlds in a tiny dust.

艺术思考:

   在生活中寻找和发现一些非绘画材料进行再创作赋予材料新的意义是件有趣味的工作,也是我一直试图拓展艺术表达的方式,非绘画材料的绘画和装置的结合,呈现出了新的语言空间,寻找和选择适合创作的材料花去了很多时间和心思,木质材料的应用是一个阶段的爱好,发现不同材料的自然造型加以利用或组装成装置绘画形式,绘画不在受制于平面,我重视艺术语言和手法的多样性、开放性,意味单纯随性的幽默感是我作品的面貌,看似随意的组合实则是精心之处,作品表达出的意境隐含着我对这个世界的认知和态度。

Artistic thinking:

  It is an interesting job to find and re create some non painting materials in life and give them new meaning. It is also a way that I have been trying to expand artistic expression. The combination of painting and installation of non painting materials presents a new language space. It takes a lot of time and thought to find and select materials suitable for creation. The application of wood materials is a hobby at a stage, It is found that the natural shapes of different materials are used or assembled into the form of installation painting. Painting is no longer restricted by the plane. I attach importance to the diversity and openness of artistic language and techniques, which means that the simple and casual sense of humor is the face of my work. The seemingly random combination is actually elaborate. The artistic conception expressed in the work implies my understanding and attitude towards the world.

艺术思考:

   我的作品离生活较远,离生命、生存较近。如何对眼前的世界、事俗的世界、习以为常的世界再度审视,把表面的变成内在的,把熟视的变成陌生的,消除不必要的信息,将整个图像重新整理成我希望人们看到的部分,需要对眼前的现实重新定位,这才是当代艺术的思维。我以偶发的下意识直觉开启绘画,其间力求溶入观念与情感、人性与神性、戏谑与悲情、理性与荒诞,用这些元素去修改世界可见的显象,以便能够解脱自己进入更加自由的境界,一个思绪飞扬无拘无束的想象空间。

Artistic thinking:

  My works are far away from life and close to life and survival. How to re-examine the world in front of us, the secular world, and the world we are used to, change the surface into the inside, change the familiar into the unfamiliar, eliminate unnecessary information, and reorganize the whole image into the part I hope people can see. It is necessary to reposition the reality in front of us, which is the dimension of contemporary art. I started painting with occasional subconscious intuition, and tried to integrate ideas and feelings, human nature and divinity, banter and sadness, reason and absurdity. I used these elements to modify the visible images of the world, so that I could get rid of myself and enter a more free realm, a space of unrestrained imagination.

艺术思考:

'一念’ 系列试图表达我对'一即一切,一切即一’的体会或感受。作品,通过在香上着色、裁断、焚烧、粘贴的简单的反复劳动过程而成,这种重复,因它的单调性使得我脑海空出,反而能够对某事物进行深思和冥想。原初我认为世上的一切,它的开端都有某'一’,这'一’会是固定不变的。但后来这'一即一切'变为’一即空'了。然后艺术就是我们日常生活中无法归纳的那部分东西,即空白部分了。

Artistic thinking: 

The 'One Thought' series tries to express my experience or feeling of 'One is everything, everything is one'. The work, made through the simple repetitive labor process of coloring, cutting, burning, and pasting incense, is a repetition that, because of its monotonous nature, makes my mind empty and allows me to ponder and meditate on something. Originally, I thought that everything in the world has a certain 'one' at its beginning, and this 'one' will be fixed. But then this 'one is everything' becomes 'one is empty'. Then art is the part of our daily life that cannot be summarized, that is, the blank part.

艺术思考:

Artistic thinking: 

I am making art on tar paper, which is typically used underneath roofing shingles. I use acrylic paint and wax markers to build up layers of luminous color on top of this black surface. By carving spaces from the darkness, I am using something like the opposite of 空白空间,空黑空间. These compositions are filled with references to art history, film and other media. My work is informed by social structures and the architectural institutions which support these spaces. In the traditional hierarchy of western painting my work exists within the history painting genre, however it serves as a kind of near contemporary documentation of cultural anthropology. My latest work is a study of the rock live houses in Beijing, and the communities which frequent them. Since the Covid pandemic, many of these venues are no longer serving their communities. In a time when gathering together with a large group of people to see live music is something of a risky act, these surviving institutions should be celebrated.
