Outlined in the 14th Five-Year Development Plan for the Advanced Manufacturing Industry in Shanghai, 18 specific indicators are proposed across the four dimensions of economic density, innovation vitality, brand awareness and digital transformation, to support high-end industries, accelerate digital transformation, and build a well-known “Shanghai Manufacturing” brand. By 2025, Shanghai aims to achieve significant improvements in industry foundation and independent innovation, surpass global standards in its high-end industries, and build world-leading industry clusters throughout the YRD region. Policy Support: Launching the Opinions on Comprehensively Promoting Urban Digital Transformation of Shanghai to Facilitate Digital Transition in Economy, Life and Governance 2021 marks the beginning of Shanghai’s “Digital Intelligence Era”. Biomedicine, electronic information, steel, chemicals, aviation, aerospace, shipping, nuclear power, automobile, and energy are ten major industries in Shanghai that are in the process of rapid digital transformation.
