1. 形式 由助动词shall(第一人称)或will(第二、三人称)和动词原形构成。但现在,尤其是在美国,各个人称一律用will。在口语中,will 缩写为’ll;否定式 will not 缩写为 won’t,shall not 缩写为 shan’t 2. 用法 (1)表示将来发生的动作或状态,含有“预见、意图”之意,常与一些表示将来的时间状语连用,如 tomorrow, next day, in a month, from now on等。 She will come back in a week. 她一周后就回来了。 You’ll understand on second thought. 再想想,你就会明白的。 (2)说明主语的特征,表示一种倾向或习惯性、不可避免性。 Accidents will happen. 事故总是难免的。 If you drop this glass, it will break. 如果你把这个杯子摔下来,它会破碎的。 (3)用在疑问句中,用来询问对方的意图或愿望。 Will you please spare me a few minutes? 请你给我几分钟好吗? (4)特殊形式 “be going to do / be about to do / be to do”。 A.表示说话人的意图和打算。 Are you going to downtown for shopping? 你打算去城里购物吗? B.预报某事即将发生或有迹象标明即将发生,与自己的意志无关。 Listen to the loud crash of thunder. It’s going to rain. 听那震耳的雷声,天就要下雨了。 C.表示“就要……, 正要……”。 I am going to go shopping. 我正要去购物。 D.be about to 表示将来时时,表示“正要… 将要…”。 The sun is about to sink to the west. 太阳正要西下。 注:be about to 和be going to 都可以表示将来时间,但是be about to 比be going to 表示更近的将来,通常不和表示将来时间的状语连用。 They are going to hold a party tomorrow. 明天他们将要举办一次聚会。 E.be to do sth. 表示“预订、义务、可能、命令或吩咐”等。 The French president is to visit China. 法国总统将到中国访问。 F.be apt to / be liable to / be likely to+动词原形。 The old car is liable to break down. 这辆旧汽车常常抛锚。 |
