大家好!

在经济学人的Bartleby专栏里读到一篇和工作相关的文章——CareerTok.

这篇文章讨论了年轻求职者使用TikTok(称为"CareerTok")作为职业发展工具的趋势。特别是Z世代,重视工作场所的透明度、支持和团结,许多人在平台上分享他们的求职经历和建议。这类型的内容容易引起求职者的共鸣并可能会引发病毒式传播。

CareerTok带来了一些好的成果,如公司在被在线指责后改进了他们的做法。但也存在一些挑战,如潜在的法律问题和一些来自老一代的反对声音。

Tiktok上,除了有CareerTok,还有像BookTok这类的主题标签。

对于Z世代来说,TikTok成了新的LinkedIn. 其实不管是哪个平台,似乎都绕不开要建立社交圈子,链接更多的人。经营”LinkedIn账号,链接精英,其实是个不小的工程

文中提到越来越多的美国人没有依靠家人和朋友,而是转向TikTok寻求建议。这种现象的出现,算是符合了时代发展的趋势吧,只是不知道这是否只是昙花一现。

文中有很多和工作职场相关的词汇,如:

perks: something extra that someone receives in addition to regular pay for doing a job(工资外的)额外收入,津贴 — usually plural通常用复数

paycheque: the money that you regularly earn: a wage or salary薪金;工资。美式英语用paycheck.

lay off: to stop employing (someone) because there is not enough work(因开工不足)解雇,使下岗
