Lack of: 以前说I'm in lack of money. 这根本是错误的, 应该说 The lack of money ＝ I'm in short of money. (混淆的根源在于lack不是short的近义词, lack是名词或动词, short是形容词)

terrible也指可怕的，糟糕的，而terrific 指very good.

两组词看起来相似，但是有本质区别

clue是指法律及犯罪的线索，比如在犯罪现场发现的线索叫clue

cue指某人给你的一种暗示（线索）比如给你猜谜语的时候会给些提示（打个动物啦，给你打个手势啦）这就用cue

distinction表现的区别是本质上的，另外distinction还有“杰出，超强，牛，天外飞仙”的意思
