I am just curious whether it is normal to do so for a mathematician. Is there any other more elegant way to attack the problem other than using Taylor series that is only approximation at best. 【 在 m1710 (重新做人) 的大作中提到: 】 : Ito lemma, : d (lnS) will have drift from volatility ☆─────────────────────────────────────☆ xf (no) 于 (Tue Feb 20 21:55:38 2007) 提到: that is why you need learn stochstic calculus, Ito corresponds the differentiation rule. ☆─────────────────────────────────────☆ cocojumbo (Nick) 于 (Tue Feb 20 22:33:19 2007) 提到: because (dz)^2 = dt, you cannot igonore the second order small any more. d(lnS) = (lnS)'*dS + 1/2*(lnS)"*(dS)^2 = 1/S*dS - 1/2*(dS/S)^2 = mu*dt + sigma*dz - 1/2*sigma^2*dt where the last term ignored the higher order small of (dt)^2 and (dt)^(3/2). disclaim: i have no stochastic background. i might be wrong. |
