HUMAN THERAPY

Rider Posture and Balance

To ride at your maximum potential whether you ride for pleasure or compete at an elite level, you need to be supple, have a balanced muscular system, be strong in the abdominal and lower back region and be aligned and symmetrical (especially leg length)

A balanced musculoskeletal system enables you to maintain good posture and balance on your horse. It will mean you will be able to apply your aids smoothly and correctly so that you do not bias to the left or right side and that you will be able to stay relaxed and supple through your aids

CEAT NZ’s Sports Therapy treatment aligns your skeletal structures and increases nerve impulses and flow, as a result this will improve or correct your:

  1. posture
  2. body symmetry
  3. muscle coordination
  4. flexibility
  5. efficiency of brain to body motor control
  6. well-being and health

When you ride you will find it much easier to:

  1. sit evenly in the saddle
  2. give clear concise aids
  3. maintain good posture
  4. be relaxed and calm
  5. ride with confidence and ease

It is necessary for you to ride lightly and evenly to minimize injury to your horses back.
With the above components you will improve your riding skills. It is also equally important for your horse to have a balanced musculoskeletal and a nervous system functioning at it’s optimum level. Refer to treatment for horses

The ultimate aim is to achieve harmony and fluidity between horse and rider

So there’s no point in making sure your horse has the latest saddle, bit, dentist, masseur, chiropractor etc if the rider is a creaking, stiff and chronically out of alignment. The joy of riding is in becoming one with the horse – in order to do that each must be free moving and flowing to allow true union to take place

So don’t just invest in one or the other .....
Invest in both and experience the difference!

What is Sports Therapy?
Sports Therapy involves an assessment & treatment of the body's whole neuro-musculo-skeletal structure.

A combination of manipulative and rehabilitation techniques can be used to formulate a gentle and effective therapy regime. The aim is to restore you to your peak performance, although prevention is the best protection and maintenance treatments are always available.

At your first appointment, you will be asked briefly about your medical history, any current medication and the symptoms you are receiving. The strength of the muscles and range of movement of the joints is assessed using specific diagnostic tests.

From the history you have given and the outcome of relevant diagnostic tests, an acurate diagnosis can be made relating to your symptoms.

If it is safe to treat you, the appropriate treatment will be given, specific to your symptoms. It will be explained how the treatment may help you personally, and advice will be given as to how you can help yourself on the road to recovery.
