I wonder, by my troth, what thou and I

Did, till we loved? Were we not weaned till then,

But sucked on country pleasures, childishly?

Or snorted we in the seven sleepers' den?

'Twas so; But this, all pleasures fancies be.

If ever any beauty I did see,

Which I desired, and got, 'twas but a dream of thee.

And now good-morrow to our waking souls,

Which watch not one another out of fear;

For love all love of other sights controls,

And makes one little room an everywhere.

Let sea-discoverers to new worlds have gone,

Let maps to other, worlds on worlds have shown,

Let us possess one world; each hath one, and is one.

My Face in thine eye, thine in mine appears.

And true plain hearts do in the faces rest;

Where can we find two better hemispheres

Without sharp North, without declining West?

Whatever dies was not mixed equally;

If our two loves be one, or thou and I

Love so alike that none do slacken, none can die.

 

早安

我真不明白；你我相爱之前

在于什么？莫非我们还没断奶，

只知吮吸田园之乐像孩子一般？

或是在七个睡眠者的洞中打鼾？

确实如此，但一切欢乐都是虚拟，

如果我见过．追求并获得过美，

那全都是——且仅仅是——梦见的你。

现在向我们苏醒的灵魂道声早安，

两个灵魂互相信赖，毋须警戒；

因为爱控制了对其他景色的爱，

把小小的房间点化成大千世界。

让航海发现家向新世界远游，

让无数世界的舆图把别人引诱

我们却自成世界，又互相拥有。

我映在你眼里，你映在我眼里，

两张脸上现出真诚坦荡的心地。

哪儿能找到两个更好的半球啊？

没有严酷的北，没有下沉的西？

凡是死亡，都属调和失当所致，

如果我俩的爱合二为一，或是

爱得如此一致．那就谁也不会死。

玄学派

十七世纪初在英国形成的诗歌流派。主要代表是约翰·多恩（1573－1631）。他原是牛津大学与剑桥大学的学生。他当过雅各一世的私人牧师，后来是伦敦圣保罗大教堂的教长。他的代表作有《世界的解剖》、《关于灵魂的历程》、《神圣的十四行诗》等。因屈莱顿曾批评过多恩“诗中的玄学成分太多”，遂被称为“玄学派”。 此派诗歌内容比较复杂，有比较浓郁的宗教神秘色彩。对于文艺复兴时期诗歌中表现的较多的感性内容，他们时而共鸣，时而又谴责人的感性本能的“罪孽”，显示了世界观的矛盾。 他们的诗歌中充满了紧张的心情和关于人的感情的议论和分析。在形式上追求精雕细琢，经常采用出人意料的比喻。该派诗歌被认为是对于文艺复兴时期人文主义诗歌的一种反响。是十七世纪英国文学衰落的表现。但此派诗歌在现代欧洲却获得颓废派诗人的重视，多恩被他们看作是自己的先驱。 约翰 邓恩 (John   Donne，1572~1631)                                    ——“玄学派”诗人   代表作：《死神莫骄纵》（Death Be Not Proud）                  《跳蚤》（The Flea）          注：邓恩最主要的成就就是他富有特色的“奇妙的比喻”（conceit）。 贴一首比喻怪异的名篇 The Flea Mark but this flea, and mark in this, How little that which thou deniest me is; Me it sucked first, and now sucks thee, And in this flea our two bloods mingled be; Thou know'st that this cannot be said A sin, or shame, or loss of maidenhead,      Yet this enjoys before it woo,      And pampered swells with one blood made of   two,      And this, alas, is more than we would do. Cruel and sudden, hast thou since Purpled thy nail in blood of innocence? Wherein could this flea guilty be, Except in that drop which it sucked from thee?
