主谓一致之逻辑意义一致原则（五）

主谓一致的逻辑意义一致内容稍多一些，但是语法不复杂。Master Osifu English继续为大家讲解。下面以讲练结合的形式为大家一一讲述。

 

5.算式中表示数目（字）的主语通常做单数看待，其谓语动词也用单数形式。

例如：Twelve plus nine is twenty-one.

Fifty-six divided by seven is eight.

 

6.一些学科名词是以-ics结尾，如：mathematics, politics, physics以及news, works等，形式上是复数的名词，但实际意义却是单数名词，它们作主语时，其谓语动词用单数形式。

例如：The paper works was built in 1998. 这家造纸厂建于1998年。

I think physics isn’t easy to learn.

 

7.trousers, glasses, clothes, shoes等词作主语时，谓语用复数；但如果这些名词前有a(the)pair of  等量词修饰时，谓语动词用单数。

例如：My glasses are broken.

The pair of shoes under the bed is mine.

 

8.定冠词the+形容词或分词，表示某一类人时，谓语动词用复数；若指的是抽象概念，谓语动词则用单数形式。

例如：The wounded are being taken good care of here now.

The beautiful is not always the good, and the good is not always the true.美未必是善，善未必是真。

 

下面以习题形式帮大家巩固此语法点。

1.This pair of shoes____made in Shanghai.

A.is    B.are   C.have been  D.had been

解析：答案A.

此题考查的是复数名词shoes由the pair of修饰时作主语，谓语动词应为单数，故选A.

 

2.The old ____well looken after by the government in China.

A.is    B.are   C.has been   D.was

解析：答案B.

此题考查的知识点是定冠词the+形容词或分词，表示某一类人时，谓语动词用复数，故选B.

 

3.Your trousers____dirty.  You must have____washed.

A.is; it    B.are; it   C.is; them  D.are; them

解析：答案D.

此题考查的是trousers作主语时，谓语动词应为复数are; 其对于的宾格应为them，故选D.

 

4.Mathematics____the language of science.

A.are   B.are going to be   C.is  D. is to be

解析：答案C.

此题考查的是学科名词是以-ics结尾，形式上是复数的名词，但实际意义却是单数名词，它们作主语时，其谓语动词用单数形式。故选C.
