The media literacy is the ability to sift through and analyze the messages that inform, entertain and sell to us every day. It is the ability to bring critical thinking skills to bear on all media. Media literacy incorporates asking questions such as or about what’s there, and noticing what’s not there. And it is the instinct to question what lays behind media productions- the motives the money, the values and the ownership-and to be aware on how all these stated factors influence the contents. In our world of multi-tasking, commercialism, globalization and interactivity, media education is not about having the right answers but it is about asking the right questions. Media literacy is one of the most important literacies to us. First of all, it is essential for us to form the view of the world and our life. Secondly, we can receive the messages from the media, which are not always true. Thus, we are supposed to practice the ability to analyze these messages. In addition, we can learn to think about things in different aspects through the media education. In conclusion, it is really important for us to receive the media education. |
