短语有很多，网上也有很多的总结，那些是考研同学应该掌握的：

1. 有可能会在考研类型的文章中出现的。

2. 不认识就做不对题的，也就是可能是考点的。

根据这两个标准我会给同学们收集和总结。

这是第二批，第一批在我之前的空间，微博和微信都有谈到。

看看这些例句你就知道什么叫走心！

1. chasing your tail : 意思就是从早到晚忙个不停，但没有太多收获，就是我们常说的瞎忙活或无谓瞎忙。

例句：Because the market is changing more dramatically than it would have 15 or 20 years ago. I think that’s because there are a lot more trend- followers involved in the market than before. It’s a game where you’re forever chasing your tail. 因为和15年或20年前比，现在市场变化太剧烈了。我想可能是因为现在的跟风者会比过去多，所以这是一场毫无收获的游戏。（期货交易大师理查德·丹尼斯访谈）这个访谈中这句话的翻译，在全网上没有一个正确的，所以短语真的很重要！

2.take a page from...向...学习

例句：The energy sector could take a page from financial firms, which do a good job of ensuring that Internet-based transactions are secure.

电力部门可以从财政公司吸取经验，因为他们很好的保护了跨国交易的安全。

3. Turn the page （和中文的意思是一样的！翻篇！）

例句：The president told the nation the war was over and asked them to turn the page and work for the reconstruction of the country.

4. It never rains but it pours.“不雨则已，一雨倾盆”，形容坏事不来则已，一来则不止。

It never rains but it pours 和中国成语里的“祸不单行”意思一样。

5. In the hole：负债累累

例句：Economists are scratching their heads. The global recession has left many countries in the hole. Which ones are likely to regain prosperity?

同意替换: in the red 欠债

6. Turn to jelly： 胆怯/发颤

这个短语本身不难理解，果冻是软的，“吓软了呗”。

我们需要知道衍生的东西：

形容某事为 like nailing jelly to the wall 就说明这件事让人无法理解也很难形容。

Writing the history of this period is like nailing jelly to the wall.

另外还有一个近似的单词很重要：jittery谨慎。

Investors and companies are still jittery

7. the bare bones(of sth)（某事或某情况的）梗概,概要.

例句：The bare bones of the scheme are its cheapness and simplicity.

这个方案最主要的特征是省钱和简易。

8. to weigh in 意思是在辩论或争执场合中发表意见

例句：Owners of small businesses have weighed in on the interest rate debate. Most of them want to keep the rates low for as long as possible.

9. In the picture 字面意思是“在图片里”，但实际想表达的意思是了解具体情况和事态的来龙去脉。

例句：Members of Parliament insisted on being put in the picture about the government's plans.

议员坚持要充分了解政府计画的详情.

10. back to the drawing board：重新开始，重头开始

例句：That is because, unlike an engineer, evolution cannot go back to the drawing board, it can merely play with what already exists.

这是因为，与工程师不同，生物进化无法退回到最初阶段（重新来过），它只能按现有的样子继续下去。
