【货物】洗舱、装卸货的注意事项 -- Soda Ash

其实一直打算着手写装粮的,但是感觉装粮要说的东西太多,小编就懒癌上身了。这些年装过太多种货,大多数的验舱都过了。


当然也fail holds inspection several times,期中最痛苦的要数装Soda Ash,fail之后做清理,又fail,清理完了又fail,最后好不容易给过了,折腾好几晚都没有睡好。那次以后,当chartering说要装Soda Ash,我都说没信心,你看着办吧。


 

究竟装Soda Ash有多难呢?先了解一下货物本身——

 

IMSBC对Soda Ash这样介绍的(在此只是highlight一些我认为重要的)


SODA ASH

(Dense and light)


Description

Powdery; composed of white, odourless grains and dust. It is made by the combustion of salt and limestone. Solube in water. Soda ash is ruined on contact with oil.


Size

Powdery


Group  C


Weather precautions

This cargo shall be kept as dry as practicable. This cargo shall not be handled during precipitation. During handling of this cargo, all non-working hatches of the cargo spaces into which this cargo is loaded or to be loaded shall be closed.


Clean-up

After discharge of this cargo, the cargo spaces shall be swept clean except in cased where the BCSN of the cargo to be loaded subsequent to discharge is SODA ASH. The residues of this cargo may be pumped as slurry during washing out.

 

Soda Ash同上一篇讲的alumina一样,也是干净的不要不要的,雪白的不要不要的。


 

装货前对洗舱的要求

 

一句话总结:要hospital clean,比装粮食还要严格!(不要问我装粮食要什么标准,懒癌上身暂时不想写,甩你一个冷漠脸)

 

具体来说:

No loose rust scale, flaking paint or hard rust or any other rust;

No previous cargo residue;

No stains;

No standing water;

对于tank top,Surveyors会prefer bare steel, no paint.

 

Surveyor会做非常彻底的检查,ladders/overheads/bulkheads/overhead beams/behind frames/around pipe guards/under hatch covers/pontoons etc 都要检查。下面这些情况肯定会被fail inspection:


- previous cargo residues




- flaking paint



- rust scale



- black stains



还想再补充一句,如果对大舱的要求或者说装港验舱标准不是很清楚,请问代理,或者让代理推荐surveyor去问surveyor,不要闭门造车。摘抄一下热心代理的回复:


Soda Ash is a white crystalline substance primarily used in the manufacture of glass. As such the hold cleanliness requirements for Soda Ash are very stringent and if not followed will result in your vessel failing the Hold Cleanliness Inspection:

 

There is ZERO TOLERANCE for

· Loose Rust Scale

· Flaking Paint

· Previous Cargo Residues

· Cargo Staining (If the stain is removable by wiping it is considered to be cargo residue)

· Tanktop Rouging (If the rouge is removable by wiping it is considered to be heavy rouging)

 

All cargo holds designated for Soda Ash will be completely inspected, including but not limited to Hatch Covers, Flat Plating, Overhead Hatch Trunks, Frames, Piping and Pipe Protectors, and Access Ladder Ways. If your vessel is found unsuitable for loading, the attending surveyor will issue specific cleaning recommendations, which may range from minor crew clean up to major cleaning utilizing shoreside labor and equipment.

 

其实上述的洗舱要求,对所有无杂质干净的货基本都适用。

 

关于tank top的锈啊,有种叫OSPHO的东东(具体产品介绍和使用方法,please refer to http://www./ 注意我没有收任何广告费),使用之后会生成一层“膜”。但是注意涂薄薄一层就够了,涂多了就会是这种效果,拿小铲子一撮,就是一层白色的灰,也不会过验舱,如下图:

装货

按照IMSBC的描述,Soda ash的特性也是会有好多dust,所以装货一般采用shore loader chute,下图是Cleveland Cascades ship loader chute:



也有通过舱盖上的cement holes装货的,采用这种装货方式,妈妈再也不用担心下雨天装不了货了。


当然,按照IMSBC的要求,下雨天是不可以装货的,没有作业的舱的舱盖要盖好。

 

卸货

卸货也同样不可以在下雨天作业。

 

此外,小编还想提醒一下广大chartering在定船的时候,如果装soda ash不要轻易guarantee ship's grab is suitable for loading intent cargo,因为soda ash是粉末状的,不是所有的ship's grab都suitable for powdery cargo。大家看下面的grab specification,就不适用装粉末状的货物。


如果用grab装了或者卸了,可能就会有spillage,就可能会有claim。



 

最后,还想再highlight一下fail inspection的严重性啊——要付出“巨额”代价。

 

以open North China/Japan的船去Portland (Oregon), US装soda ash为例,一般船会去Vancouver BC加低硫油,在加油同时安排pre-inspection survey。如果fail inspection,船可以选择留在Vancouver anchorage找岸上清理公司做清理。清理公司去做大概要1.5-2 days,装备比船上先进齐全,会雇barge把cherry picker送到船上,这样高处都可以清理到。


大致费用如下:

USD 18,000 - Tug & Barge to place equipment o/b at anchor

USD 37,500 - Hold cleaning costs (est - USD 7,500 per hold – 5 holds)

USD 2,000 - Pilotage from anchor to berth

USD 600 - Pilot Launch 

USD 2,000 - Additional launches (labor)

USD 60,100.00 - Total estimate (not including removal of waste water if needed)

USD 20,000.00 - 30,000.00 - Removal of wash water (additional)

USD3,000 - Pre-inspection survey cost

 

也可以选择去Kalama anchorage 做清理,大概费用跟Vancouver差不多,一个舱大概7500美金,再加上barge cost 15000美金,七七八八也要5万美金这样。

 

此外,因为fail hold inspection,重新让surveyor上船做survey的钱肯定也是要由船东付的,大概USD1000。不要忘了还要算上重新清理被off-hire的时间/租金损失和耗油。


至于holds washing water,鉴于removal的费用实在太贵了,可以把洗舱水(大概100-200mt)留在船上。当然最好不要提醒租家这一点,也最好不让租家知道,否则我是租家我就会claim船东洗舱水留在船上影响我的装货量了,要赔钱给我。


综上所述,除非对大舱十分有信心,还是不要装soda ash啦,否则,一旦fail hold inspection找岸上清理公司做大舱,对于这个voyage的performance result,我只能呵呵了。
