龟兹菱格本生故事汇第13期 克孜尔第17窟 龟救商客出海 局部：龟救商客出海 古时候，有一商主带领五百商人一起入海采宝。在归途中，不幸遇到水鬼，拦住了他们的去路，不得前行。众商人惊恐至极，便纷纷祈求天神前来救助。海中有个背宽一里的大龟，得知商人们遇到麻烦时，便挺身而出，游向商船，竭尽全力，负载众商客，使他们安全出海。 由于超负荷地运转，大海龟疲劳过度，在岸边睡着了。而贪婪的商主却趁机想用大石头砸死海龟。众商人一起为海龟求情道：“我们全靠这只海龟的营救才脱离危难，杀了它，是恩将仇报，会遭报应的呀！”而商主却冷酷地说：“由于多日没有进食，我已经饥饿难耐，哪里还顾得上它的恩典呀！”说罢，即狠心地砸死了海龟，并吃了它的肉。 当天夜里，来了一群大象，把商主及众商人踏凌而去。由于不识恩，商主得到了如此报应。 选自《杂宝藏经》卷三 A Turtle Saving Merchants on a Maritime Voyage In ancient times, five hundred merchants, led by a Merchant Master, embark on a maritime voyage to seek treasures. Unfortunately, on their way back, a kelpie stops them from moving ahead. Terrified, the merchant prays to the Heavenly God for rescue. Knowing their troubles, a gigantic turtle, with a one-mile-wide back, paddles itself towards the merchant ship. With its full efforts, the turtle succeeds in carrying all the merchants ashore. Overburdened and exhausted, the gigantic turtle falls asleep on the shore. The greedy Merchant Master intends to seize the chance to smash the turtle with a large boulder. “We escaped from the calamity because of this turtle. It’s repaying the kindness with animosity if we kill it. We’ll be liable to retribution!” His fellow merchants plead. “Having eaten nothing in several days, I am too starving to consider its act of grace,” the Merchant Master said remorselessly. Then he stones the turtle to death and devours its meat. On that night, a herd of elephants come and trample the Merchant Master and his fellow merchants.
