翻译一个协议，遇到这么一段话：
如本合同项下质押的股权因任何原因受到法院或其他政府部门实施的任何强制措施，出质人应尽其一切的努力，包括（但不限于）向法院提供其他保证或采取其他措施，解除法院或其他部门对股权所采取的该等强制措施。
If any court or other governmental department takes any compulsory measures on the Equity subject to Pledge hereunder， the Pledgors shall use their best efforts to lift such compulsory measures， including but not limited to providing other security to the court or taking other measures.
奇怪的是，我的第一反应是lift这个词。
《布莱克法律词典》的解释：
lift vb. (16c) 1. To stop or put an end to； to revoke or rescind . 2. To discharge or pay off (a debt or obligation) . 3. Slang. To steal .
Lift的动作很形象，脑中浮现出停车场出口的栏杆抬起的情景。原先的禁止被解除。大概伴随着这种印象，lift一词取得其流行地位。
它还用在另外一个词组：lift the veil，或pierce the veil
与之类似的是stay，一个动作，非常形象，又能直接用作名词，保留动词的原味，而在用法上又更加灵活。
《布莱克法律词典》对stay 的解释：
stay n. (16c) 1. The postponement or halting of a proceeding， judgment， or the like. 2. An order to suspend all or part of a judicial proceeding or a judgment resulting from that proceeding. — Also termed stay of execution； suspension of judgment.
