Young people in Beijing convicted of bullying can now be given sentences involving hard labour, in a move that has raised eyebrows on popular microblog Sina Weibo. Fourteen girls aged 15 to 17 are currently involved in the fivetoseven day trial programme which began on Monday. One student was given a sentence of one year and 10 months. During the programme, young offenders also take part in a gruelling course involving military training, after which schools assess whether they are fit to return to their studies or they should be expelled. 现在中国将宣判犯有欺凌罪的青少年去参加劳动改造，此举在流行的社交媒体新浪微博上引起了大众眼球。 十四名十五到十七岁的女孩目前参加了星期一开始的五到七天的试运行项目。其中有一个学生被宣判了一年十个月的劳改。 在这个项目期间，青少年们还参加了一场艰苦的军事训练课程，随后学校将对他们进行评估，判断他们是否适合返回学校就读，或者直接开除出校。

Spending what was their free time picking up trash, working in soup kitchen or similar might teach them some humility and compassion. But first look for abuse in their home life. Even though BBC is asking questions like "do they deserve it?" which should create some negativity, people are still supporting this.
