One day Grandfather gave Bert and Beth 

a beautiful sailboat.

一天，爷爷送给波特和贝丝一艘漂亮

的帆船。

They decided to sail it in the bathtub.

他们决定在浴缸里让它航行。

‘Let’s pretend it’s not the bathtub,’ said Bert.

‘Let’s pretend it’s the open sea.’

波特说：“我们装着它不是浴缸。

让我们假装它是大海。”

‘OK,’ said Beth. 

贝丝说：“好的。”

‘Let’s pretend we run into a huge storm 

at sea,’ said Bert.

波特说：“我们假装进入了一场海上

的特大风暴。”

‘That’s scary,’ said Beth. 

贝丝说：“这让人害怕。”

‘And there are sharks all around us!’ 

said Bert. 

波特说：“而且周围有鲨鱼围着我们！”

‘That’s very scary!’ said Beth. 

贝丝说：“这太可怕了！”

‘And there’s a pirate ship, too,’ said Bert. 

波特说：“还有一只海盗船。”

‘Oh no!’ said Beth. 

贝丝说：“哦，不！”

‘Don’t be scared, Beth,’ said Bert. 

波特说：“贝丝，不要怕。”

‘We’re really just sailing our sailboat 

in the bathtub.’

“我们真的只是在浴缸里航行我们的

帆船而已。”

‘Come play with us, Grandfather,’

 said Beth. 

贝丝说：“爷爷，来跟我们一起玩儿。”

‘Now that Grandfather’s here, 

I won’t be scared at all!’ 

“现在爷爷在这里，我一点都

不害怕了。”
