TASK 1
The bar chart illustrates the proportion of the whole world population in India, China, USA and Japan in there different years.
In 1950, China and India accommodated 35% of the whole global population, while there were less population in the USA and Japan, accounting for 7% and 5% respectively.
After approximately a decade, the proportion in China experienced a slight decrease, along with that in the USA and Japan. India stood out as the exception, rising to 17.5%.
According to the projection in 2050, the percentage in India is estimated to be on the rise and it will probably exceed that of China. China is still a country with large population at the predicted year, claiming the second place in all the countries. The proportion in the USA and Japan will continue representing lower ones, with the former keeping stable and the latter declining.
To sum up, majority of the above mentioned nations show a downward trend in the proportion in the world population, whereas India’s proportion always increases. (Word count:169)
TASK 2 Nowadays, a large amount of advertising is aimed at children. Some people think this can have negative effects on children and should be banned. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 题目分析: 题目类型:交通类 提问方式:同意与否类
In today’s material world, people are inundated with various forms of advertising. Particularly, there is an increasing trend for advertisers to target children. While I agree that advertising may have some adverse impacts on children, I do not agree that it should be banned.
We seem to take it for granted that advertisers and marketers are allowed to groom even the youngest children. Before children have even developed a proper sense of their own identity, or learned to handle money, they are encouraged to associate status and self-worth with stuff, and to look to external things such as fame and wealth for validation. The advertising is turning out legions of little consumers rather than young citizens who will value themselves for what they contribute to the society in which they live. Furthermore, children experience advertising in many forms – on TV, radio, billboards, magazines, newspapers, movies, the internet, advergames, social media and they cannot usually tell what is the right and what is the wrong. This may lead to inappropriate idea of consumption for the young, as they are induced by the advertisements to buy more.
There should be an immediate end to all advertising aimed at children of primary school age and younger played on the children’s channel. Such bans are already working in places such as Sweden, Quebec and Greece. It's time for a similar ban in a broader world. If the restriction is put into force, children would be exposed less to food advertisements, and therefore it might be less likely for them to eat unhealthy foods high in fat, salt and sugar. As a result, the next generation should boom in a purer environment with less harmful effects from the advertisers.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that numerous forms of advertisements have negative impacts on the young children and the government should ban those advertisers from aiming directly at children in order to alleviate such effects. (Word count:320) 口语 Speaking
一、考试概述: 以下为8月份本场考试话题,请考生们扎实准备。 Describe a good service you received Describe an occasion you helped someone Describe a party that you joined(New) Describe a trip that you plan to go on in the near future(New) Describe a building you like(New)
二、具体题目分析: Describe a building you like. You should say: Where it is What it is used for What it looks like And explain why you like it
When I think of a building that I’m pretty fond of, the first thing that comes up in my mind is not the skyscraper in crowded, internationalized cities, but the library in my hometown. I live in the small but peaceful city. This library which was built by the local government is one of the few tall buildings in my hometown.
The library has a 10-storey structure. Offices and recreational(休闲) area are located on 9th and 10th floor, while the media room is on 7th and 8th floor. The other six floors specialize in(专门) presenting books on display. Also, it is equipped with(配置) modernized technology that offers citizens great conveniences, such as a huge database of online books which enables people to look up materials as well as concise system of borrowed and returned books.
The exterior of the library is very modern and splendid, with its walls glittering(闪烁) under the golden sunshine, and that creates a strong contrast with its surrounding ancient architecture.
I enjoy spending my time studying and reading books in this library during vacation. It always provides me with a quiet and tranquil(宁静的) atmosphere and that it is fantastic to get refreshed(恢复) and relieve stress(释放压力) after a hard day’s work. |
