在生活中，总是会有人是比较聪明的，但是聪明也是分为很多种的，小孩子的机灵聪明，大人的思想的聪明，科研的创造聪明，这写聪明看起来是一样的但是还是有不一样的，而在雅思托福的表达中也是如此，一起来看看吧！ 1.bright说到聪明的我们一般都是口头上的表达描述，bright就是一个口语常用语，这个聪明的一般是指年轻人，但是更侧重的是指小孩思路敏捷，理解能力强，机灵等。 例如： I was convinced that he was brighter than average. The class are, in general, very bright. 2.clever说到聪明的，机灵，那么就要说一下clever，clever也是描述聪明的，但是更加强调头脑的灵活，强调能较快地理解并正确掌握和应用所学的知识或技能，有智有谋，但是却不一定能够全面拖堂的考虑问题，所以也可以指耍一些小聪明，而在这时是含有一定的贬义的。 例如： She would cleverly pick up on what I said. If you have a gap in your resume, work on clever ways to describe it. 3.smart这也是一个普通用词，与bright和clever的意思很相近，但更强调机灵，也就是表示思维能力很强,办事巧妙,能圆滑地处理人际关系等，但是有时也会带有表面的会肤浅的色彩，聪明的也是有很多面的，smart有时就会表达出含有贬义的一面，也就是狡猾，诡秘的一面。 例如： One is, are they smart enough to do the job? But it’s not wise to put everything you have into one corporation, nor do I like commercializing my entire life. 5.brilliantbrilliant 也是指聪明的额，指的是人的才华比较出重，思路敏捷，所以很多时候都是会让人赞叹不已的。 例如： It was a brilliant strategy, because it lacked all strategy. In fact, when I was a young boy, I worshipped my father, whom I believed to be not only the most brilliant but also the tallest man in the world. 6.intelligent这是一个比较正式的用词，指在理解新的、抽象东西或处理解决问题时，智力超过一般常人。也就是指某人在需要用脑理解或解决问题时,具有较强的、有效的使用头脑的能力,侧重于智力的外在表现。 例如： Susan's a very bright and intelligent woman who knows her own mind. I like Per very much, because he is a very intelligent boy and reads the game very well. 7.ingenious指人思路敏捷，但是这不光是这个，还暗示有创造与发明的才能和技巧。 例如： Nevertheless, after a long period of evolution, ingenious humanity changed to be sturdy and immune to some diseases. On the heels of their ingenious ideas were generally hardship loneliness and great pressure. They had to resort to all their energy and courage so as to be able to crack the tons of hard nuts. 8.shrewd这个聪明的含有‘机灵’、‘敏锐’、‘精明’的含义在里面，表示谙于世故,对事物浅尝辄止,遇事老谋深算,善于判断，把握有利机会。 例如： He's an artist, a scientist and a shrewd businessman (all) rolled into one.
