One place that I enjoy going to every once in a while is IFC. It’s an upscale bougie shopping mall located in LuJiaZui. It’s relatively new, and it boasts a wide variety of international luxury brands like Celine, Gucci, Piaget, etc. Now, let’s be honest. I don’t go for the shopping. The stuff is way too expensive, and I’m not big on shopping to begin with. I mainly like to go for a couple of other reasons. First of all, there are a lot of good eats there. IFC has a host of eateries to choose from -Japanese ramen noodles, cakes and desserts, modern Shanghainese cuisine, seafood, pretty much all your bases are covered there. Also, I’ve noticed that there seem to always be new restaurants opening, so it’s nice to go and try some of the latest food trends. Second of all, I like it because it isn’t crowded. You know, most shopping malls in Shanghai are teeming with people on the weekends, but for some reason IFC stays relatively empty. So, I like to take my family there for a change of pace, especially during the summer when we’re trying to escape the sweltering heat. It’s about an hour's drive, so we don’t go terribly often, but if we’re planning on making a trip into town, it’s one of our top choices to hang out. Usually we’ll do some window shopping, then grab a bite to eat, and we’ll then bring some goodies home for our parents as well. 实用词句
