基本句型《普通高中英语课程标准》（2017年版）规定，简单句有八种基本句型，其它各种句型均由此八种转换、缩略或扩展而成。这八种句型的结构是： 1. 主谓结构，即“主语+谓语”，其谓语一般都是不及物动词。如： They walked and laughed. The sun is shining. 2. 主系表结构，即“主语+连系动词+表语”。如： They are neighbors. The dish smells good. 3. 主谓宾结构，即“主语+谓语+宾语”，其谓语是及物动词。如： Jenny will buy some books. Jeff is answering the call. 4. 主谓宾宾结构，即“主语+谓语+间接宾语+直接宾语”，其谓语是可跟双宾语的及物动词。如： Alex gave his sister the piano. Mary handed me a letter. 5. 主谓宾补结构，即“主语+谓语+宾语+补语”，其谓语是可跟复合宾语的及物动词。如： I found the book easy. They called their daughter Amy. 6. 主谓状结构，即“主语+谓语+状语”。如： The children stayed in the room. Anna left yesterday afternoon. 7. 主谓宾状结构，即“主语+谓语+宾语+状语”。如： You can put the dish here. They visited their grandmother last Sunday. 8. 存现句（也称“There be 结构”），即“There + be +主语+其它”。注：除be 外，sound, look, seem,appear, lie, stand等，也可用于此结构。如： There is a dictionary on the table.
