英语里你能“说道做到”吗？Can you walk the walk?

英语里有‘talk the talk... walk the walk'这样的短语，它的意思可不是‘说一说，走一走’。‘talk the talk’单独讲是‘言传；注意言谈；开空头支票’的意思。可以引申为‘说一套；说得好听；说话头头是道’的意思。

比如

When it comes to getting the world to stop thinking only in dollar terms, Beijing is trying to do more than just talk the talk. 为了推动世界不再只以美元进行思考，中国决定停止纸上谈兵，尝试付诸行动。

而相对应的‘walk the walk’的意思就是‘身教；实践诺言；说到做到，言行一致，付诸行动’的意思。

You can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?

你说的头头是道，但你能做到吗？

Thomas is a trustworthy man——he always talks the talk and walks the walk. 托马斯是一个值得信赖的人——他总是说到做到，言行一致。

When it comes to recycling he talks the talk but he doesn't walk the walk. 在废物回收利用这个问题上，他是说一套做一套。（这里是否定形式，也就是不能说到做到，翻译过来就是说一套做一套了。）
