动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。

405.make money赚钱，发财致富

用法：make money相当于make a profit， 常跟介词by, from连用，表示挣钱的方式。

例句：Owners make money from underused assets. (2013年12月四级)

业主通过末充分利用的资产赚钱。

结构分析：Owners是主语，make是谓语， money from underused assets是宾语，其中from underused assets是介词词组作后置定语。

406.make way让路

用法：make way可以单独使用，表示“让路，腾出地方”，也可以跟介词for连用，表示“为……让路，为……挪地方”。同义短语give way一般配与介词to连用。

例句：The young driver refused to make way for the truck.

那位年轻的司机拒绝为卡车让路。

407.take a rest休息

用法：take a rest表示“休息一下”，rest前可以用good修饰，take a good rest表示“好好休息”，同义短语有take a break,have a rest。

例句：The manager said that you can take a rest after finishing the report.

经理说写完报告你可以休息一下。

408.take a shower洗澡

用法：take a shower的同义短语有have a shower, take a bath。

例句：She developed the habit of taking a shower before going to bed.
